FREE kids rides on amusement park type rides. How many of us have been gouged for that type of fun at the local week-end corner event where they set up shop and are gone the next day? Spacious greenbelts for the kids to run, play and get out from under those darn video games. I can’t tell you how many kids and adults I saw playing all kinds of games. Frisbees, footballs, and Cornhole tosses were all over the place. Camping! The hook-ups were there for all to be relatively comfortable and then the smell of grilled food that people bought for their morning breakfasts permeated the whole area. The weather this year was picture perfect. With the sun settling in the west over the mountains there were fabulous sunsets to watch while bands on both Friday and Saturday began their opening sets. The bands played all kinds of music that brought little kids running up to the stage area to participate in whatever moved their little dance frames. This so called bass fishing event is really an old time family affair where the frustrations of the daily grind are temporarily put aside and families can get back together and enjoy life the way it was supposed to be lived.
