If the Blues are a religion then Brian "Husky" Burnette sho' nuff preaches it. You can feel the testimony as he blends Delta Blues, Rock n Roll, and Electric Blues. His music is gritty, soulful, southern, low-down and dirty. Husky, who hails from Chattanooga, TN, followed in the family footsteps of rockabilly kings Johnny Burnette and Dorsey Burnette, writing, recording and touring with several national artists over the years sharing the stage with; Roger Alan Wade, Hank Williams III, Leon Russell, T-Model Ford, Kenny Brown, Guy Clark, Emmylou Harris, Shooter Jennings, Scott H. Biram, Col J.D. Wilkes (The Legendary Shack Shakers/The Dirt Daubers) and J.J. Grey and Mofro among others.
In 2006, after leaving his road band Polecat Boogie Revival, Husky set out to do his own thing. He hit the road and toured the US, releasing the out-of-print bootleg EP "Snake Oil Salvation" on his own in 2007.
In 2009, Husky won 'Best Blues Band' at the FYI Awards in Tennessee/Georgia, and, after signing with Cracker Swamp Records in 2011, released his first full length album, "Facedown In The Dirt", (named Album Of The Year by R/N/Z Magazine). A guitar endorsement with Cigar City CBG’s company soon followed. In 2012, Cracker Swamp released two more for Husky: a split EP with The Jonny Monster Band entitled “Down and on the Split” and an acoustic EP, “The Stripped EP”.
In the Spring of this year, Husky signed with Rusty Knuckles Music and began working on his next LP, “Tales From East End Blvd.” due to be released on August 24th. The new album was recorded and produced by J.B. Beverley and Buck Thrailkill at Rebel Roots Studio and features Shooter Jennings, Billy Don Burns and J.B. Beverley, among others.
