Formed in Cheltenham in 1996, the band recorded their debut album "At Your Convenience" with Martin Nicholls at Whitehouse Studios in 2001, which was released on Jamdown Records.
2012 - We are sorry to announce that our drummer Dave will not be joining us on the forthcoming tour as he has decided to step down from the band for personal reasons. We wish him all the best with his other musical ventures.
The great news however, is that we have managed to bag An amazing Drummer Jamie, who currently drums for the legendary UK Subs. We are very excited about playing with him on the forthcoming tour and although Dave will be missed, these shows are expected to be the biggest and best we have ever played. We look forward to seeing you there.
The UK punk rock trio from Birmingham, TEMPLETON PEK, have recently finished recording their forthcoming album "Signs" in the States with producer Shep Goodman. The album is due for release on 29th April on Century Media Records. BRAND NEW VIDEO: "Wake Me Up": http://www.muzu.tv/templetonpek/wake-me-up-music-video/1837730/
The band comments: "We are beyond excited to finally announce the release of our brand new album "Signs." Predominantly recorded last year in New York USA with Producer Shep Goodman (Four Years Strong, Bayside), and also featuring two tracks from our UK sessions with Greg Haver (Manic Street Preachers, INME). It's a collection of songs that we feel perfectly represents our sound and us for both familiar ears to the band and new audiences alike."
"Signs" will immediately resonate with people that are no strangers with TEMPLETON PEK's sound. Comparisons can and will be drawn to the likes of Rise Against, Funeral For A Friend, Story Of The Year, or even the early days of the Foo Fighters galvanized with influences from the 90's Fat Wreck and So-Cal movements. The new album is a blatant in-your-face display of TEMPLETON PEK's confidence in their art and their unapologetic belief in what they do.
TEMPLETON PEK spent the summer of 2011 supporting USA giants Rise Against across Europe and appearing alongside Good Charlotte and Bullet for My Valentine at major festivals. The band signed to Century Media Records and headed into Modern World Studios with producer Greg Haver (Manic Street Preachers /Bullet For My Valentine) to create their EP "Slow Down For Nothing" which was released in 2012 and was supported with live dates alongside SUM 41 and Four Year Strong.
The band has already debuted the single "What Are You Waiting For" from this EP. To listen to the track, head over to Century Media's official YouTube:http://youtu.be/ANx6gk8ZmPk
Fans can expect touring in support of the album in 2013 and beyond. Some European summer festival appearances have also been announced. So stay tuned, full touring schedule announcement coming soon!
Slagerij was born in September 2007 and wrote/practised song ideas until their first gig at riffs bar nr Swindon in May 2008. They started to build up a good reputation on their local Swindon circuit and hit Mooncalf studios in October 2008 to record their first release the OH YEAH!!! ep. January 2009 saw Janek join on drums to make a solid tight knit formation as the 3 piece are now know to date. More local gigs took place in early 2009 they earned themselves a good local following and made it through to the regional finals of the surface unsigned festival playing at the 02 academy in Bristol. In late 2009 they started work on writing new material and recording it down in their own studio.
In that time they played with Californian based Kung Fu Records band Assorted Jelly Beans (AJB) at The Croft in Bristol. After a great show both bands immediately hit it up and AJB took the OH YEAH ep back to the states with them. This led to the offer of playing at the Ska in the Park festival in California alongside some of the most well-known Ska/Punk acts like Big D, Fishbone, AJB, Mustard Plug and tons more in June 2010. The Slagerij boys instantly threw themselves at the chance of this offer and booked their flights over. After writing enough material for their first album, they released the self-titled album Slagerij with a near sold out album launch show in their hometown Swindon in May 2010.
With more offers on gigs around the Westcoast of the States with the awesome Denver Ska-Punk they set off on a weeklong tour trekking across deserts, taking in such major cities like Las Vegas, LA, San Francisco and places between. Such an awesome journey was had. After arriving back in the summer they came back and played the summer with various dates across the UK.
The band seemed to start picking up good gigs around the UK playing alongside and supporting some great touring bands. This led to a much filled calendar from the start of spring until the summer of 2011, this then followed by with shows in the festival circuit in the UK. During this period more song writing continued and they decided to hit the studio once again. This is when the home recorded new album "Swim for Shore" was recorded. A huge sold out turnout repeated itself for the album launch party at the hometown venue "The Victoria" in October 2011.
Slagerij have been touring throughout 2012 supporting acts such as "4ft Fingers", "Imperial Leisure" and "Citizen Fish". They have also been added to the "Do The Dog Music" distro. You can now see Slagerij upping their game at well known venues across the UK and will be out looking to tour in 2013 as much as they can.
