Damian Quiñones & Ray Gehring Live @ Dean Street!
Tuesday 6/25, 8PM @ Dean Street, Prospect Heights, Brooklyn (corner of Underhill Ave.).
Featuring the music of Brooklyn's own Damian Quiñones!
Quiñones's sound is akin to a mix tape made from his uncles old vinyl collection! Part 60's Pop (Gainsbourg, Bacharach, Lennon/ McCartney, Davies, & Hayes/Porter) part 70's Latin funk (Willie Bobo, War, Harlem River Drive) w/ Jazz, Tropicalia, Reggae & Electronic music overtones; always weaving a joyous rhythmic tapestry throughout. NuYorican Rock in his hands is well-crafted, funky & authentic. Equally exciting to experience solo as it is blasting full-volume w/ his killin’ band.
The "Commonwealth" will be accompanying Mr. Quiñones.
"With this Commonwealth, one could suggest any style of music: Modern to Memphis, Miles to Mavis, Metal to Minneapolis, & refreshingly- with no sense of irony or silly kitschiness- genuine & sincere musicianship bursts through captivating not just the audience but clearly this "Commonwealth" themselves! Expect a Sonic journey traveling from NYC to Nashville, New Orleans & way beyond!"
