When MF Ruckus hits the stage, a nexus in the universe forms, creating a place where all is in perfect harmony, war ceases, poverty becomes abundance and all the starving children of the world dance and sing. MF Ruckus is a turbocharged Rock n Roll super-group comprised from salvaged and frankensteined pieces of Denver and Chicago's most legendary unknown bands. Following the concurrent demise of Forth Yeer (AKA Forth Yeer Freshman), The STD's, Road Crew and Home of the Brave, the surviving members joined together over a number of years to create a 6 headed rock-strosity, known as "The Motherfucking Ruckus" or MF RUCKUS for use in polite company. Parker Clark Whitton, Tony Lee, Aaron Howell, Jerry Cass, Logan O'Connor and Tyrell Blosser write songs in the key of fuckin' A and throw shows that will blow your mind into a million tiny pieces, so you’d do best to strap on your party pants. Like a bastard child of AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Thin Lizzy and Motorhead, MF Ruckus nods to Lynyrd Skynrd and Turbonegro both within songs like “Balls of Steel” that showcase their thundercock rock stylings. Now, the band is set to take over your town as they tour to support their new live CD and DVD, The Dirty Half Dozen. This double disc, live album and DVD is the closest you can get to the MF Ruckus live experience without shot-gunning an ice-cold Colorado Kool-aid and hopping into the van yourself.
Aaron Howell leads the band with vocal pipes forged from Satan’s gold. A throaty, raging growl of a voice with a range wide enough to sing Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” and Dio’s “Last in Line” in the same set as if they were on the same album. Howell’s also got a killer sense of humor that comes out as banter between songs that gets a rise out of audiences.
The band’s guitars are led by Tony Lee (aka The Windy City Madman) and Parker Clark Whitton (aka The New Kid), whose intense riffs, inspired by blues, rock and metal alike, are set with a killer buzz that electrifies audiences of all stripes. The backbone of the band, Rhythm Guitarist Jerry Cass and Bassist Logan O'Connor, manage to keep pace with the furious pace of Drum-Beast, Tyrell Blosser.
Here’s what critics are saying about MF Ruckus:
“These guys ROCK with a capital “R”. Equal parts AC/DC, Skynyrd, and Motorhead, these six Denver mofos are out to prove (or so it seems) that the death of Rock ‘N Roll has been greatly exaggerated and the genre, in turn, underestimated,” says Sindo Lamas of Clampdownradio. “MF Ruckus are the epitome of all things great about good old Rock ‘N Roll.”
“Every song I’ve heard from Mf Ruckus has been a lesson in kick ass rock n roll. Remember, almost all the recordings have been live and it’s pretty impressive when live music sounds this good.… These guys should appeal to everyone whether they are metal, punk, rock, hard rock, rockabilly, or….whatever,” says Tom Walsh of Interstatelive.com.
“That band knows how to work a crowd and actually puts on a show instead of just getting up and playing instruments,” says Tom Murphy of Denver Westword.
