"I’ve said it ad nauseum in reviews before, but it bears repeating: I appreciate when bands can invoke their influences without being a total sound-alike. Kick the Robot does a good job of that on their record Music to Fight the Future, while keeping the sound fresh, fun, and original at the same time."
— Caitlin Malcuit, The Backstage Beat
Just over a year ago, three friends who were a part of a locally successful five-piece jam band decided to branch out of their comfort zones and break down to the basics. The result of course was The Roycrofters, who strongly agree with the creed stated by Elbert Hubbard that working with the head, hand, and heart and mixing enough play with work brings health and happiness. The group expresses this notion through their songs, and even more so with their high-energy, on-stage performances that combine classic rock jams of Led Zeppelin, to the more-modern sounds of The Black Keys. Just who exactly are The Roycrofters? Take a listen!
