Dharma Presents: ENGLAND IN 1819 + When the Word Was (((Sound))) + FLCON FCKER!!!
England in 1819 just finished their tour of 26 shows in 25 days and will be back at Dharma to celebrate the release of their newest new single and music video for “Our Own God” on Saturday, June 15th!
The band has been touring almost non-stop since the beginning of 2012, spreading their wings across the South, Mid-West and East Coast. When their touring drummer had to leave with 2 weeks to go, what seemed like a mid-tour disaster ended up igniting a fire of fresh influence. Andrew leaned on his previously unused electronic composition degree to lay a foundation of synths and electro beats. Their atmospheric textures floated seamlessly across new wave electronics, with touches of post-rock swells and dream-croon vocals. It was a serendipitous melding that perfectly replicated the energy and excitement of life on the road. The response has been fantastic!

Opening for When the Word Was (((Sound))) and England in 1819, we will have FLCON FCKER from Houston! FLCON FCKER is one of the newer additions to Houston's growing cadre of live electronic produces. With motion-reactive software, open-source controllers, hand-made synthesizers, and affection for low frequency oscillations, FLCON FCKER braves the gap between music and theater. A performance offers the following: Glittered, musical, shimmer-bots . . . .perhaps the most apt description for the various FLCON built FCKER decorated analog synthesizers, deliver music in waves alternating between crashing, chaotic frequencies and thought-provoking melodic serenity. Accelerometer equipped midi controllers enable motion based control of various elements of sound and percussion, as well. The result is an interesting experiment in live, performance-based electronica.
