Description of Program: Angela Easterling "A Songwriter's Journey Through American Music"
Angela Easterling is an Americana-Folk singer-songwriter based in Greenville, SC. She is a two-time Kerrville New Folk Finalist and a 2011 Telluride Troubadour Finalist. She presents a performance of her own original songs interspersed with selections of classic folk, roots, country and rock tunes. As part of her performance, she discusses the craft of songwriting and tells the stories behind her songs and how they came to be, weaving in some of the history of roots music and the artists who have influenced her writing. Angela recently presented this program as part of at the Smithsonian Institution’s traveling exhibit New Harmonies: Celebrating American Root’s Music. She will be available for CD signings after the show. Appropriate for all ages. 2-3PM
