Now in its fourth year, Hemp History Week is a nation-wide education campaign and marketing program that seeks to renew strong support for hemp farming in the U.S. while raising awareness about the benefits of hemp products. As more Americans recognize the health and environmental benefits of hemp products, hemp farming promises job creation and economic opportunity for farmers and manufacturers, and ensures that nutritious foods are more accessible and affordable for consumers. In turn this means healthier lifestyles, a stronger economy, and a more sustainable world.
Hempsee Jamsee is a family event to help raise awareness about the benefits of hemp farming & products, and features:
2:00pm – Xulu Dance Class
3:30pm – Open Mic to share songs / poems / art / dance
5:00pm – Richard Thornton (recently featured on the History Channel series America Unearthed) speaks about the history of hemp farming its potential for economic development in Georgia
6:00pm – Live music by Aviva and the Flying Penguins, Yoeshi Roberts, Hart Sawyer & the Love Project, Tim Olivar, Jeff Mosier and more
There will also be a crafts table for children, free hemp soap and food prizes, and lots of educational information about hemp farming and production.
