Pip, former contestant on NBC’s smash hit show The Voice, will perform
his debut EP, No Formalities, live for the first time at USC’s Tommy’s Place on Friday, April 26th at
Produced by Luis Dubuc (Mystery Skulls, The Secret Handshake) and Noah Shain (Dead Sera, The
Chevin, Orson), and featuring six songs Pip co-wrote with Dubuc, No Formalities combines new
synth-pop sounds with old school funk undertones in a fresh, radio-ready (but not radio-routine) getup-and-dance assembly that, led by Pip’s soulful vocals, gives new definition to funk pop. The EP is
the 20-year-old’s follow-up to his debut single, “Who Cares”, previously released in September to
reviews calling it “instant radio material, boasting poppy synths, vivacious, catchy vocals and a
straight up sing-along vibe.” [The Music Ninja]
Pip was an immediate fan favorite after his national debut on The Voice where his performance had
Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee-Lo Green and Blake Shelton all fighting for his attention. Adam
Levine said of Pip “[He] could pretty much do anything and affect people and impact people.” After
the excited response to “Who Cares”, Pip hopes to continue to do exactly that with No Formalities.
"It's been such an amazing journey working on this album and making my own music for the first
time,” says Pip, “but I am so ready to get back out there and perform live shows for people again. It's
going to be such good show, I'm so overwhelmingly proud and thankful for everyone involved, and I
can't wait for Friday!"
The show will take place at Tommy’s Place on the USC Campus at 10PM on April 26th, the night of
Pip’s 21st birthday. Admission is free, and attendees must be on the USC Campus before 9PM.
