There has been some question to my age over the past couple of years. I do finally turn 40 this year. I have been putting on Birthday shows for many many years as a way to promote local artists and as an excuse for a show and to have fun. Not sure if this will be the last one I do or not...but it's the most important one I have put on.
It's a milestone Birthday and I also want to celebrate 20 years of working with and within the local music scene. I also want to honor my father, Warren Manner, who passed away this past year after three battles with cancer.
So... my goal is to raise money in my fathers name for a local cancer charity and to touch on some artists from the past 20 years (not all of them of course...so many have been a part of my enjoyment of this scene). We will be raising money for the local charity Angels Among Us. http://www.myangelsamongus.org/about.html
Here is the lineup of artists that have committed to this cause and who have been a part of the many layers of the Omaha music scene that I have experienced, promoted, enjoyed and have been lucky to be involved with.
-Matt Banta, Pat Gherman, and Michael Campbell-Exchange/Mick's acoustic round robin set.
