His choice of beats and music define the new influence of neo-soul music on the modern hip-hop movement. Haling from Canada this Victoria native proves that you don’t have to come from the states to be a classic hip-hop emcee. Keep an eye out for this multi-talented artist / entertainer about to takeoff, or land, at an airport near you!\n\nMoka Only is also an award winning producer. His organic rhythms, use of sound-bites, soulful melodies and complex arrangements will definitely remind you of Madlib and the late great J. Dilla. Currently based in Vancouver British Columbia he was previously part of the hip hop group Swollen Members, and briefly a part of Len. He has worked with a few companies to date with albums released by Legendary Entertainment, Domination Recordings, URBNET Records and Wandering Worx Entertainment.\n\nMoka Only (aka Daniel Denton) spent his early days developing his graffiti skills in Victoria, BC, before trading in his paint cans for a mic. Having found his true calling, he rhymed non-stop at house parties and anywhere he could find ears. After a brief stint in San Diego, Moka rooted down in Vancouver, where he established himself as the Canadian hip-hop icon he is today. Known by a bevy of aliases (Ron Contour, Flow Torch, Durable Mammal) Moka boasts a resume of collaborations even longer, including J Dilla, Aceyalone, OH NO, MF Doom, Buck 65, K-Os, and Sixtoo. He spent some time in the group Len, with other notable group projects including Swollen Members, Souls of Mischief, Living Legends and Jeff Spec.
