Lori has been playing music and performing for many years. Her music has been described as a soulful Americana/Folk style with Kansas/Texas roots.
Lori’s art is one that conjures such influences as Woody Guthrie, Emmy Lou Harris and Patty Griffin.
Lori grew up in Kansas and now lives near Seattle on Bainbridge Island in Washington. She has been influenced by her farming background as she lives with her partner on Bainbridge where they raise chickens, garden and try to live a self-sustainable lifestyle-- Lori loves to play her music – work songs, farming songs, justice songs, church songs and rebellious church choir songs. Lori has always had songs running thru her head.
Lori sings her songs in the “old-fashioned” way, a lonely voice, a simple rhythm guitar and words that are clear and beautiful. She has never prided herself on being a perfectly polished and slicked out musician.
