Live Entertainment
Nicolette Good is a San Antonio-based singer/songwriter and a winner of the 2012 Grassy Hill Kerrville New Folk competition and other songwriting and performing honors. Her first full-length album, Monarch (2012), includes tracks like Marathon that earned a spot on the docu-reality TV show, Troubadour, TX, in 2011. The album was named a top 12 album of 2012 by the San Antonio Current and leans heavily on rich lyrics, ethereal vocal melodies and complex characters. Critics have called her “a songwriter to follow” and “a poet of the first order.” As a songwriter, Nicolette leans heavily on the subtle twists of a story that keep listeners on tilt. 41Entertainment said it best, “Nicolette writes like butter melts.” http://nicolettegood.com/
Austin writer and performance artist Gene Fowler is the author of Mavericks: A Gallery of Texas Characters, published by U.T. Press. He has made several brand new hardback copies of the book available to Sala Diaz for a very special silent auction (details below). Gene will offer a short performance that riffs on Lord Byron, Hank Williams, Christopher Marlowe, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Walt Whitman and Billy Joe Shaver.
Wolverton will open for Gene and Nicolette: http://www.wolvertonmusic.com/
