“Into the Red is a strong debut release from Rochester, NY’s Shadows of The Past. In a general sense, the 5 piece’s debut is an aggressive, upbeat, and catchy take on modern rock. Musically speaking, the writing is solid. Cory, Alex, Peter, and Mitch work well together. The writing shows a maturity beyond their years, which allows the group to demonstrate a great blend of layering that is not over done and unusual to find. Vocally, Hector shows off his abilities well and delivers catchy chorus’s that are easy to remember and sing to. Overall, Into the Red clearly demonstrates the groups’ promising future and tracks like Displaced and Truthless are as good as any you would hear on modern rock radio.”
