Its double-edged sword fuels my writing, and lost love finally finds a home in melody.” – Johnny Edward It’s this thought that gives meaning to the title of Johnny Edward’s highly anticipated second release. Throughout This Is Home, we find Edward capturing love’s lightning in a bottle, all to the style he was born to write in. It’s more than a collection of songs. It’s a statement about self-discovery in both life, and the fine-tuning of a craft. Edward has managed to blend the feel-good folk of The Lumineers, the raw energy of Mumford & Sons, and the instant catchiness of Taylor Swift into an original sound that demands to be heard. With the two-year project finally out and into the world, Edward’s goal is simple—relate to the listener’s own life with universal themes and undeniable songs. http://johnnyedward.com/ SEVENTEEN SISTERS For Sarah, Gracie, Angel, Faith, and Hannah Scarbrough, the term “living with purpose” is more than just a clever phrase; it’s a true representation of who they are. It’s hard to simply capture Seventeen Sisters in a few words. They are an explosive force of energy; a multidimensional unit that embodies talent, experience, hard work, strong women, compassion, and fortitude. They’ve overcome adversities and gained a true passion for others and the world we all live in. Seventeen Sisters has a truly unique sound, perfectly mixing vintage retro and modern rock. The closest description is if you blended up Heart, The Black Keys, and Queen with today’s technology, then poured it into the mold of 5 talented, strong, young women. They are an edgy infusion of classic rock and soul combined with soaring sibling harmonies and strong female vocals. Wise beyond their young years, Seventeen Sisters use their music to create a positive change in society by uniting people through concentrating on what we all have in common rather than focusing on differences. They are currently working on a new album that fully illustrates where they’ve been, who they are now, and where they’re going. Seventeen Sisters vast experiences empower them to thoroughly incorporate into their writing their passion for music, people and life! Seventeen Sisters is ready and has what it takes to take the world by storm. This is not your average band, and these are not your average girls! http://www.seventeensisters.com/ ESSO Cultural consciousness, unity and celebratory dance are the ideals behind multicultural musical outfit ¡ESSO! Afrojam Funkbeat. The Chicago based ensemble perform a unique interfusion of Afro-Latin inspired compositions and jams. Influenced by the global troubadours and subversive thinkers of an emerging counterculture in the 70s and 80s, the band pays homage to the traditional and progressive while taking their own step forward. The rustic rhythms of Fela spiced with the textures of Fania blend with an improvisational ritual resembling the Funk Brothers; all from the streets that birthed house music. ¡ESSO! has experimental roots with live musicians setting the stage for soul singers, “coro” group singing, and poetic emcees. This platform has cemented into a diverse group finding an outlet at global street festivals and venues with an impassioned heart on its studied sleeve. What began as the house band for a live music night in downtown Chicago became a full band performing on the city’s global music scene. The cast of rotating members, pieced together from various recording projects and bands, changed from month to month until a solid foundation settled to host special guests and members. Co-founders, Armando Pérez and Kevin Miller, spearhead the group with a singular vision in focus. Both, with notable Chicago bands, Jugo de Mango and Suena Latin Jazz, respectively, bring experience and structure to the group. Along with an energetic pool of Djs, producers, organizers and bands of equal ilk, ¡ESSO! (El Sonido Sonic Octopus) began playing shows with emerging local talent and established artists alike. http://www.essoafrojamfunkbeat.com/

“Who says that getting homeless can stop some one in achieving their big dreams?? No one can stop natural destruction but I barely see someone making it their strength and rising even after being through such a hard time in life. “Seventeen Sisters”….. This is the name of a group of five talented “real sisters” famous for their rock music. These Mississippi young girls lost everything in a hurricane which made them homeless. But this could not stop them in achieving their goals they set for themselves. With their focused hard work, perseverance, dedication, unshakable confidence and true commitments to make the best out of the worst, these young girls have flourished in their craft. Rising out of the destruction and being homeless for almost two years, they've come back stronger than ever. With all of their qualities, they are ready to show their talent to Chicago music lovers.”
