Polarise Presents: Boxing Day @ The Westbury With The Ratpack At The Westbury Bar, United Kingdom on 26 Dec 2010 from 21:00 to 03:00 Lineup: Ratpack, Dj Kane, Dj Lewi, Sergio cabrera This Boxing Day sees the first of many parties where Polarise do things a little bit different. We have lots in store for the coming months and the New Year but to kick things off we go back to the Old Skool for a Ratpack Special. After the exceptional turn out and electric atmosphere at our last two visits, we return to the decadent Westbury. Our headliners barely need introducing but for those who don't know: Everson Allen and Lipmaster Mark are collectively known as The Ratpack and they are considered to be the Kings of Old Skool. Many would say that the Ratpack movement was like a time-bomb just waiting to detonate. In the early 1990s, it seemed that every flyer, club and stage was graced by their presence throughout England’s capital city. In fact, it’s fair to say that their magic was felt in virtually every city across the country. Those who were there will never forget the vibes they sent out, as well as the overwhelming compulsion to really let yourself go to their sounds. Not content with Dance Chart Number Ones, Legendary Mixtapes, a First Class Rave Pedigree and Global Fame, the 'Pack' now return with lots of new material. You can expect Old Skool-inspired 'New Skool Breaks' along with some original Old Skool Bangers thrown in. All we really know for sure is that they will be tearing the roof off of this party. Helping us keep the vibe Old Skool all night will be two Old Skool Jungle Originators and Innovators in DJ Kane and DJ Lewi. In terms of production, performance and contribution to the early scene, a close inspection will reveal that they both have histories that are highly noteworthy. Making his return for Polarise and completing our Old Skool line up will be Sergio Cabrera, a hugely influential figure in Tenerife's Underground Party Scene in the early 90s. Now residing in the UK, he will be treating us to one of his legendary sets, going back to his musical roots. We eagerly look forward to welcoming all of the above acts to The Westbury for a Boxing Day party like no other.

“Sergio Cabrera has been a great influential figure in the underground rave scene of the early 90s in his native Island of Tenerife showcasing new beats and regularly playing before cheering crowds of old school Hardcore, jungle and Drum and Bass devotees. His humble beginnings in run down warehouses sheds and back gardens saw him gain acceptance and becoming a hot resident DJ in the islands most sought after venues pulling an international crowd to their feet. We can only Imagine what the future will bring for this Young Spanish producer, knowing that sound is not only composed of frequencies but there are direct psychological and physiological responses associated with sound and knowing that he has only scratched the surface of what is possible for him musically we can expect him to branch out into psychoacoustics and sound installations enabling him to have a strong language of his own.”
