“Last month, ArtsVegas attended the RAWards Indie Arts Award Show to cover the finalists for RAW: Las Vegas. We’ve since interviewed the winners and asked them each three questions: Sabriel Hobart RAW: Las Vegas Musician of the Year: 1) It feels so awesome to be a part of such a cool scene. I’m very thankful for everyone who listened to my songs and enjoyed them enough to vote for me! 2) I plan to do as many gigs as possible to get my work out into the world. I’ll also be putting some hard work into writing more songs for people to hear. I just want to have fun meeting people and performing! I’ll be on iTunes very soon, as well! 3) My recordings are on sabrielmusic.com. My Facebook page features my songs, updates on shows, YouTube videos and more. I also have a Twitter and Instagram under SabrielMusic!”

“So earlier this year, Sabriel began a stylistic evolution. The singer—who made her public singing debut in 2011, at a Talky Trees open-mic session at Emergency Arts—revisited the music on which she was raised. She immersed herself in ’90s-era crooners D’Angelo and Maxwell, and R&B icons Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder. Reflecting their soulful quality in her own sound felt “natural” and “more comfortable.” But she could only take the change so far on her own.”

“The Vegas native’s Life Is Beautiful set last October had a flighty festival crowd on lockdown, as Sabriel mixed original material and covers—one by the woman her stylized singing most recalls, Erykah Badu—at the head of a veteran band anchored by members of local crew Rhyme N Rhythm. And she’d just turned 19 one month earlier..”

“The soulful voice radiating through your speakers comes from the 19 year old sing Sabriel. Yes at only 19 years old Sabriel is creating music like this! Sounding like the child of Erykah Badu and Amy Winehouse ,Sabriel’s voice and songs are captivating. Replaying her music I am glad to say that I was lucky enough to hear her music for the first time and see her perform live at the Life Is Beautiful Festival which took place in Downtown, Las Vegas. We have just become a new fan here at The Juice Daily and expect big things for Sabriel. Put her on your radar if she isn’t already and be on the lookout for more music. Check out her music below!”

“They had this outrageous lineup of chefs and it was a magical evening,” said Blau. “A 19-year-old girl performed – she performed at the festival too – she was just phenomenal, like a young Norah Jones. Blau was referring to on-the-rise Las Vegan Sabriel Hobart, who sings every other Sunday at Eat, 707 Carson St.”

“With energy you can feed off of and a naiveté that is sure to serve her well, 19 year old Sabriel sings with a voice that will gash your soul. Her lyrics and dead on delivery leave a distinctive mark and remind you of the passion superb R&B has the power to evoke. - See more at: http://lifeofarockstar.com/music/files/sabriel_sings_soul_gashing_r_and_b_interview_with_nicole_hanratty.php#sthash.S8Z79LiF.dpuf”

“LIB recap: A Sunday diary of Twenty One Pilots, Jurassic 5, Sabriel & Smith Westerns 6:35 p.m. Sabriel (Homegrown) The highlight of the Homegrown Stage for me this weekend came from local songbird Sabriel (pronounced Shaw-bree-el). Backed by Coco Jenkins, Renaldo Elliott and Rook Genre of Vegas hip-hop outfit Rhyme N Rhythm, along with horn players from The Remedies and One Pin Short, Sabriel captivated us with smooth soul jams, converting the hotel courtyard into a smoky jazz club for her 30-minute set. Emulating Erykah Badu from every musical angle, the Las Vegas Academy grad even performed a respectable cover of Badu’s “Tyrone.” She’s an exciting talent to see developing in Las Vegas, and I look forward to catching a longer performance.”

“A reported 60,000 people were in attendance for the two full days of what felt like a music marathon running from stage to stage tracking down the next band or food station. After canvassing the festival and enjoying all it had to offer for two days straight we compiled a LIB Superlatives Wrap Up for the event. Best Performance: The Killers Album On The Christmas Wish List: Portugal. The Man "Evil Friends" Best Homegrown Act: Sabriel”

“Life is Beautiful -- a massive art and music festival celebrating all things beautiful to the spirit -- hit downtown Las Vegas last weekend. The show featured a Culinary Village showcasing chefs and gourmet-types, murals and interactive art, Cirque Du Soleil performances and influential speakers such as Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh and Life Is Beautiful founder Rehan Choudry. Music ranged from electro to hip-hop, rock, and alternative featuring The Killers, Kings of Leon, Imagine Dragons, Janelle Monae, Vampire Weekend, Empire of The Sun, Nico Vega and many more, including local acts such as Sabriel.”

““Waking Up In Vegas”- 2013′s Life Is Beautiful Fest Review and Artist Interviews To say that I had a great time this weekend in Vegas at the first annual Life Is Beautiful music, art and food Fest would be an understatement. The Killers, Imagine Dragons ( whose set featured Cirque Du Soleil Mystere performers) Childish Gambino (who did a dope cover of “Rolling in the Deep”),Janelle Monae (who flew in from NYC after performing on SNL on Saturday),Alabama Shakes (love them), Danny Brown, Allen Stone (always fun live), Wallpaper and a slew of great rising Nevada homegrown (American Cream, Moondog Matinee, Sabriel, Ekoh) and other talents from around the U.S.(The Kingston Springs, Tink, Cosmic Suckerpunch to name a few) all made the traffic I faced driving from Los Angeles worth it. Everywhere you turned on each block of the downtown Fremont St. vicinity stimulated the senses. Whether it be the 3-D art painted on sides of buildings, the fire-shooting ant, the various indoor and ”

“Soul of the City: Meet Singer-Songwriter Sabriel Hobart Downtown Las Vegas should flatter itself to believe that if it had a voice of its own, it would sound like Sabriel Hobart. The young singer-songwriter — who performs under her first name, pronounced Shaw-bree-el — sings with a true and genuine soulfulness that’s too rarely heard in Vegas, or anywhere else for that matter. (Hear it for yourself and you’ll likely agree.) It’s not at all difficult to imagine her voice issuing from car stereos and her star-quality features illuminated on giant billboards. But for now, you can catch her act at Eat and several other Downtown venues, where it never fails to amaze.”

“Preview: Star chefs and rock stars cook up great food and music for Life Is Beautiful The feast of the senses also will include the sounds, on four outdoor stages, of The Killers, Kings of Leon, Beck, Empire of the Sun, Imagine Dragons and some 30 other bands. Local 19-year-old singing sensation Sabriel with her blue-eyed soul stylings reminiscent of the late Amy Winehouse will make her debut.”

“The Home Grown Stage At Life Is Beautiful Festival Downtown Las Vegas 19 Year Old Sabriel Debuts at Life is Beautiful Festival This weekend at the Life is Beautiful Festival in Downtown Las Vegas plenty of local talent will take the big stages and garner a lot of attention but some of the real gems in the music line-up can be found on the homegrown stage. The stage will be set-up on Fremont and 7th street. A few notable homegrown performers to be on the lookout for: Sabriel is a 19 year old with a soultry voice and bright smile that should really make a mark on the festival. She's been making the rounds in Las Vegas and this is her first festival appearance. She performs Sunday October 27 , 2013 at 6:35”

“MUSIC NOT TO MISS AT LIB With only one EP under her belt but enough powerful performances to have gained a solid local following, Sabriel is a vocalist that’s not easily ignored. Sweet, sultry and often seductive, this girl’s got the pipes to take you the distance. Pair that with a repertoire of original compositions and covers that showcase her range and soulfulness, Sabriel’s voice is a force to be reckoned with. She’s equally engaging weather belting out jazz standards, R&B and pop hits or even the occasional folk jam. There’s nothing not to like about Sabriel.”

“See What the Beautiful People Wore at Life Is Beautiful Life Is Beautiful took over Downtown Las Vegas this weekend, and that gave the fashionable set a chance to don their best festival gear. Photographers Chelsea McManus and Erik Kabik captured some of the best looks from the weekend, including singer Sabriel, Anna Worstel of Five Knives and the Haim sisters of Haim. Head to the full gallery to see all their looks up close.”

“Sabriel to Play Life is Beautiful 2013 Las Vegas local recording artist and soulstress Sabriel will make her festival debut at Life is Beautiful, Sunday October 27, 2013 at 6:35 p.m. on the Homegrown stage. One listen to her "Garden" performance on PBS Backyard Session and you'll know exactly where this emerging artist is headed. With a voice that follows in line of Erykah Badu and Amy Winehouse, Sabriel at only 19 years old is one to watch as she lights up Downtown Las Vegas this weekend. Sabriel's song "Hollow Eyes" carves out a deep gash with her sharp delivery then fills your soul with her robust vocal range.”

“Sabriel at Insert Coin(s) 9/1/2013 by “It was perfect,” said our man with the camera, Joe Rodriguez. The last time we saw Sabriel (which was admittedly way too long ago) she was backed by a stand-up bass, a hollow-body guitar and a drum kit—and it was awesome. Warm, subdued, and intimate, the old lineup produced a lounge-like coffee shop vibe that could turn any old cup of joe into the best coffee you’ve ever tasted. Since then there have been some big changes. Last night we saw her accompanied by an electric bass, no guitar and a horn section boasting saxophone and trombone. Sabriel’s sound is developing and her performance of an all-new set at Insert Coin(s) was very promising—she exhibited the fresh enthusiasm of a young artist and looseness of a veteran musician. The soulful songstress and her band—including members of local hip-hop group Rhyme N Rhythm—sang and played their way through a generous number of tunes. Sabriel’s voice”
