Superlove Highway CD Release Show "Sky Parlor". Doors: 7:30 PM – Show: 8:30 PM – Tickets: $5 Advance / $7 Day Of Show – For Fans Of: Wilco, Ryan Adams, John Mellencamp - Superlove Highway formed in Raleigh, NC in late 2012 when singer-songwriter Nick Colmenares teamed up with veteran musicians Josh Pack (lead guitar), Nick Abbate (bass), and Dan (Danimal) Abbate (drums). The band weaves a wicked mix of rough-cut blues and alt rock married to irresistable melodies and gutsy vocals firmly rooted in the lyrical terrain of everyday life and death. Superlove Highway’s sound has been called a cosmic combination of Ryan Adams, Rolling Stones, and the Drive By Truckers, and their live shows certainly showcase elements of each. The band’s debut EP “Sky Parlor” will be unleashed in Summer 2013. Since its inception in 2007, Transistor Zen has been at the forefront of the Raleigh music scene. By entwining eclectic styles in aesthetic packaging, the TZ boys have found a way to turn folk rock up to 11. Instrumentalists Wes, Keebler & Tradd relentlessly reinvent their approach toward finding the perfect balance between ambient sounds, toe-tapping rhythms and melodic tracks upon which Chad’s poetic/prophetic train rolls through like an eccentric bard on his fifth, free PBR. Influenced by a vast array of major and independent recording artists, the group has recently steered toward the experimental; developing sonic landscapes for Chad’s deeply emotional images of desolation, persecution and serendipity. To truly experience Transistor Zen, you must be up-front and center, where the wall of sound can wash even the most cynical critic’s denunciations away. Consider it ablution for your musical ennui. Ryan Johnson is an up and coming singer/songwriter who now lives in Raleigh. After traveling and rodeoing for eight years, the places and things he saw offered some storytelling in his songs, with styles similar to Ryan Bingham, Townes Van Zant, and Hayes Carll.
