“June is officially Pride month and we are kicking things off with Portland Black Pride beginning June 6th. We have a several exciting events spanning from June 6th through June 10th. This year we are really excited about the first Black Pride Summit on June 9th. It is important to provide a space where we can all come together to share ideas and discuss issues that are relevant to the Black LGBTQ community. We hope people walk away with a greater sense of community and feeling they have learned some things that they may not have known before. The Families of Color Day Out is also a very special Portland Black Pride event. We know that family can mean and look different for everyone, and that holds true for the LGBT community as well. We want to celebrate that by inviting family, friends, and allies out to a day of fun in the park. June 7th: Official Black Pride Kick Off Party 9pm-2am (open-mic 930pm-1030pm) Hosted by Ya Girl Rissa Riss”
