Rich Palmer / Press

“Rich Palmer discovered that children and his musical background make beautiful music together. Palmer, 43, wears many hats and has the talent to match. By day he works for the Washington Township Fire Department in media relations and as a public education specialist. When done with those duties, he becomes a singer/songwriter where he writes and performs music for area children to help them learn about safety. And lastly, his love of children and music opened other doors — he's one of 32 singers from eight countries who recorded a holiday song to benefit UNICEF. An employee of the township since 1991, Palmer schedules and handles all the safety programs for the fire department. He teaches pre-school to high-schoolers with such topics as burn prevention, brain-injury prevention, preventing falls, exit-drill planning and puppet shows. He also does business training for adults, which includes CPR and fire-extinguisher training.”
