“OBSCURE CHAOS -ZINE REX84- “You Are The Enemy” from U.S.A punk band Rex84 a band I know absolutely nothing about, first time I have ever heard any of their material is when I got a copy of their album to review. What do you get for your buck, pretty basic, shambolic punk rock is what you get, and it’s pretty good if you like some old school punk. it’s all short and sweet with all the pent up anger they can muster. I don’t know who’s who in the band so can’t really say who plays drums etc but suffice to say they are all decent enough musicians with the guitars giving a great buzz saw effect which I am always a sucker for, drums are totally chaotic the way punk drummers should be, the bass is fine and the vocals are well done, you can hear the lyrics very clearly. My favourite tracks are probably “Terminal Middle Class” which is a cracking Dischargish type thing and “Cop” the next track on the album which is a slower more moody song that gives a nice feeling of re”

“I’m always down to hear anything new out of Rex84 so when Stevie Bastard passed me a copy of his newest release You Are The Enemy I knew I’d be happy with it; and as usual I was very impressed. This full-length has twenty tracks totaling just over thirty two minutes of how the fuck did this come out of Kentucky. Stevie gets real busy, real quick crunching the shit out of his guitars on this one. Typical of Rex 84 these songs are short, angry and at times a wee bit shit your pants scary. The newest line-up for Rex 84 is Stevie on guitar and vox, Spooky on bass and backing vox, Token is on drums and backing vox and Romie of coffin flag is on backing vox on a few tunes as well!. This album makes me wonder if Stevie didn’t eat GG Allin. His lyrics are crafted from genuine hate and tossed about in a gritty sauce of frustration jacks insanity of podunk radio”

Mastermind Stevie Bastard has assembled the finest live crew to pummel his mean and witty lyrics and music into your skull with blunt force strength! Not for the weak of heart or narrow of mind, “You are the Enemy” will test your willingness to get a beatdown from your ears down. Listen with caution, my friends, as you will be barely able to move after listening to Rex 84’s CD :You are the Enemy” ~ Sporky Siiikpunk DJ @ underground skanking radio”
