Ratchet / Press

“Now here is a band that will push you back in your seat! They are called Ratchet and they are from the San Francisco bay area. To me, they are a great combination of alternative rock and Metal. Swaying from one style to another within the same song and driving it with a "balls to the wall energy", Ratchet will have you holding your breath at times out of sheer numbness as their waves of sonic energy pass like a musical tsunami. With incredible vocals and solid musicianship, Ratchet has a sound that kicks ass and leaves a deep impression. They represent an ongoing desire that many new bands have by combining genres and creating a palate of many colors and textures. And with their inventive formulas and driving emotional content, they will leave you wanting more with every play of their songs.”

“All searing energy and a thrust for metal, RATCHET takes a backseat to none. they take sane as insane as it could go. Driving pure authentic metal and brand it with a fresh attitude without an attitude, Great bunch of guys. Brian Giguere (Vocals) and Ty Kaufman (guitars) entered my studio at KSCU 103.3 and gave the listeners one of the greatest interviews I have ever had the pleasure to engage in. Playing live on the airwaves with a perfect performance creating radio gold. Zergog. Host of "Beyond the realms of metal".”

“Those Ratchet guys are a good sounding band,i'd play with em anytime. ~”

Jack Gibson - Exodus - show quote

"Your stuff is very strong. Mainstream radio rock with no "cookie monster" vocals, in other words, real melodies! Killer......"

Al Bowman Founder / Executive Producer LA Music Awards - LA Music Awards

“I know that these guys will have no problem getting air time with radio stations across the US and I have no doubt that they will someday headline some stadiums in the future. Buy this album when it comes out and you will not be disappointed.”

“I felt like i was watching The Doors reincarnated as a modern rock band.... ”

“Ratchet Overall Delivery: 4.5 to 5 ----------------------------- "Ty, ... The songs are very well done. The energy captured is awesome. The vocals and guitar work and tone are among the highlights. Good luck with the CD release When an artist sees 4, 4.5 or 5 as their score in a category, it's a validation from a professional, confirming that the songs are of the highest level and show strong potential in the ultra-competitive music industry. Thanks again for the music submission Ty and continued best wishes! Also: Cool photo of Joe Satriani! He's amazing! " - Gene Foley ”

“As a big fan of the newer brands of rock from Foo Fighters to Tool, Ratchet fits right in there very nicely and makes a very promising noise indeed. The only caveat here is that I think it is probably essential that you like your rock wearing steel capped boots (although there are some quieter moments dotted hither and yon). ......has both vision and (presumably) staying power. Certainly stacking up the tracks on their page in a radio listen in a definite to-do for this reviewer but I was ever a rock animal through and through and I do love a bit of fresh, red meat. Excellent hard rock, and a welcome return to a Soundclick prodigal son (and guitar God). Highly Recommended.”

“this release is above average and stands out compared to most of the music we hear. A few areas could be stronger, but this is definitely a good release and you should be proud. You’re on the cusp of greatness...”

“Support this artist, the world needs to hear them, they need you to hear them, because without that, both of us will be extremely frustrated. On a personal level, You guys are excellent. It's a tough game out there but IMHO you guys have got it. Keep improving forward, try different markets, find out where your style is HOT right now, and push it in their face. You won't be dissappointed. Overall I gave this song 20 mins reviewing time 5 stars and (when paypal works) I'm going to buy this. ”

“...it was time for Ratchet. They came on and blew us all away. The talent, skills and performance these guys bring are much higher than their current surroundings. Truly, they need to be playing on a bigger stage.”

“Deep, moving and emotional are three words that come to mind during the first minute of the song, though that soon fades into oblivion as Rough, tough, raw and escentric move to the forefront of my mind when I'm taken back and just want to get out of my chair and pull out my air guitar. Structured perfectly with all choruses, bridges and verses in exactly the right spot. It's evident to see by even the first listen to 'Now You Know' has had countless hours of research, effort, and application of professional airbrush applied. Production qualities are what I'd expect to pay $20 for at my local record shop. ”

Clay Michaels - soundclick

“Hard Rock Junkies be alert, cause thundering down the halls comes 'ratchet' the currently 'unsigned' though wont be for too long indie band from the USA that is about to send you on a ride.”
