Described as a jazz edged acoustic trio, their sophisticated arrangements ,strong vocals and diverse instrumentation with guitars, double basses, mandolin, banjo, bouzouki wrap around the expression of their stories with sparkling musicianship.
These varied influences give strength to their own compositions and the interpretation of others work. They have performed many gigs and festivals here and played gigs in Europe in 2013.
Rosie McDonald, MusicOz award winner has a strong rhythmic drive on guitar and bouzouki and a velvety rich alto voice.
Ann Palumbo is a jazz influenced soprano and composer and a versatile musician playing guitar, mandolin and double bass.
Paul Laszlo is classically trained but with a jazz/improv bent and a leaning towards American mountain music and blues. Paul’s rich baritone voice, banjo and virtuosic bass ground and underpin their sound.

RAPT have played numerous gigs including the National Folk festival ,Illawarra folk festival & Snowy Mountains of Music festival in Perisher valley snow fields, Turning Wave Festival-Yass, Planet Dungog, Gulgong festival, Mudfest- International short film festival in Mudgee, St Albans folk festival ,Northern Beaches and Cygnet folk festivals and Folk by the Sea-Kiama. RAPT toured successfully to Western Australia in August 2014 where they played stunning gigs including at the J -Shed in Fremantle- a working artists/sculpture studio.
RAPTare planning to play gigs up and down the East coast and over to the West in 2015-2016 and are always working on new material. RAPT are a versatile outfit and sometimes segue into the band WMCTV -'When Mother comes to visit 'to play Cabaret style shows with an ensemble cast featuring Ben Palumbo http://benpalumbo.com.au/ They have played at Cygnet Folk festival and performed at The Basement, Vanguard and Camelot venues in inner west -Sydney in this guise.
