Pebble to Pearl / Press

“With a blend of funk, rock, blues, soul and R&B, Pebble to Pearl are a sonic force. There are no samples here. It’s pure musicianship with horns, slapping bass lines, funky guitar riffs and keys. Dari J pulls it all together with vocals that create thoughts of both Saturday night and Sunday morning. The quintet from northern Virginia can slow it down and give you pure R&B as in tracks like “Farewell” and “Turn Your Life.” Their strength is when they drive you to your feet with funkified tunes like “Good Ass Love.” They will be playing throughout the summer and are working on new material. Be sure to go out and support them if you’re in the area. We had a chance to talk to Dari J and learn more about Pebble To Pearl. “Electrifying rendition of Purple Rain! Amazing performance. So much talent on one stage. Look forward to hearing about more shows!”

Melinda D. Anderson - NEA Writer "Twitter Post"

“Pebble to Pearl never ceases to amaze me....close seating allowed me to really view the two sets of keyboards being played wow!...A classically trained pianist, [Sean Mahon], whose fingers were tickling the ivory grain of both sets stunningly, also plays guitar. The vocalist, within moments you can tell is professionally, classically trained. Chris Compton, [has] a professional drummer's smooth control and sense of conviction are felt in his playing. He can play multiple instruments and is a talented versatile vocalist. The bass guitarist was good too...an amazing show...that continues to unfold with new originals as well as that beloved "Purple Rain" they do so well. The instrumentals alone can carry the song, but the vocalist playfully waits as the the musicians show their incredibly polished talents which just encourages the crowd... to be tantalized just enough....you can hear them sigh as Dari Ferguson takes that mic one more time.”

Linda Panagoulis - Performance Review

“Dari, I can not tell you how many positive responses I received about the band. The event wouldn't be the same without you. So glad you can do it again!”

Julie Hoffman - Loudoun Habitiat for Humanity

“Pebble to Pearl has a nice, modern and funky sound. I love how they incorporate as many instruments as they can. It lends so much more interest to the ear when subjected to so many different sounds. They flip flop from funk and soul to rock. It's hard to classify this band because they cross so many genres. Pebble to Pearl gives us an explosively remarkable mix with superb musicianship. One term that can truly describe these guys is soulful. Lead singer, DariJ, takes us on a ride through each song. 'Farewell' sticks out as a favorite. DariJ's vocals are so sweet and demure in the beginning and immediately captivate. This is the strongest performance in my opinion because of the simplicity of the song. The piano lends the perfect accompaniment to such heartfelt lyrics....... FOR MORE...http://www.iaemagazine.com/music/2012/022012/pebble-to-pearl.html#.Tz87dNWIoz0.facebook ”

“Despite bands, singers and emcees existing in record numbers since the surge of artist independence, versatility remains an uncommon suit for rising entertainers. Let Pebble to Pearl (P2P) be the exception. (For full article follow link below) http://chantilly.patch.com/articles/artist-alert-pebble-to-pearl”

“I love the Flash Pebble to Pearl website! Dari has a great voice - really loved her version of "If I Were a Boy." btw, if you ever think of a way to include some of the band's music in any of our episodes, feel free to suggest it. I don't mind giving you guys some publicity. Maybe we can be ghost hunters with a soundtrack.”
