Anchored To the Sound is a multi-venue, alternative, independent music festival based across various stages on The Mutley and North Hill areas. It incorporates Plymouth University Main Hall, The Junction, PL4 Cafe, The Underground, Carpe Diem and The Fortescue and despite being a commercial event, leads primarily as a community interest project. The festival aims to establish an annual event with national appeal that not only highlights Plymouth as a cultural hub on the national festival circuit, but gives local artists a platform to perform to a mass audience alongside big names. The initial line-up announcement unmasked the festival head liners as Lonely The Brave. With a new album including their hit singles Radar (which was Annie Mac's hottest record in the world on BBC Radio 1) and Rattlesnakes which has been an instant success as well as their recent live session at Maida Vale which was broadcast on Daniel P Carters Radio One Rock Show, the band is sounding bigger and better than ever. Following LTB's main stage performance at Reading and Leeds Festival last year and a string of UK dates to promote the new album, the band is also featuring at several festivals across the country in 2016 but this will be the only festival performance south of Bristol for the year. Since then The festival has announced Polar, Landscapes, Casey, Crooks, High Hopes, Crazy Arm, Ducking Punches, Continents, Lock & Key, Carcer City, Pay No Respect and so many more including over 25 local and regional acts. The festival is a little different from most as it is multi-venue, the idea of which is to promote cohesion within the local music industry and involve key individuals whilst bridging the gap between small and large venues. The ethos is to support the local market place by putting money straight back into the hands of local business owners and raising the profile of each venue to national bands, managers and agents. The festival will play host to over 55 bands across multiple stages and venues along with multiple bars, merchandise and retail pitches as well as a world food court including vegetarian and vegan dishes and an after party. Anchored To the Sound hits Plymouth on the 27 th of August 2016. WHERE CAN I GET TICKETS?
