Paul Marturano / Bradley Cooper's Left Arm / Press

“Singer/songwriter/practical joker, Paul Marturano, was back at American Idol auditions this year with a new outrageous song for the new "love of his life," Jennifer Lopez. Most people remember Marturano from his unforgettable American Idol audition in 2008, when he sang his original song, "Stalker," for an unsuspecting Paula Abdul. Now, Marturano is back with his song, "I’ll Love You More," for Jennifer Lopez. He showed up at auditions in his custom T-shirt which read, "Paul from the cul de sac loves Jenny from the block" on the back of the shirt. When asked about Jennifer Lopez, the so-called new love of his life, Marturano said, "Jennifer Lopez? Well she's no Eva Mendez..... She's not even a Rosario Dawson ....besides I am 36, that's about 12 years too old for her." When asked what he would say to Jennifer Lopez if he saw her now, Marturano responded, “Juanita….. Ocho, Seis, Siete, Cinco, Tres, Zero Nueve, El gato es muy grande that's the only Spanish I know.”

“Local American Idol Alum Giving Away Free Song About the Philadelphia Flyers to Philadelphia Flyers Fans Paul Marturano, who is best known for jokingly singing a song about stalking Paula Abdul on American Idol in 2008 and for performing the preshow and post show to the Billy Joel/ Elton John concert in Citizens Bank Park to thousands in August of 2009 is giving away his song, Broad Street, on his website in honor of the Philadelphia Flyers Stanley Cup Run. Broad Street can be downloaded for FREE at Paul Marturano's website http://www.paulpiano.net . ”

“American Idol Alum to Perform this Saturday Aug. 1 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia along with Billy Joel and Elton John Billy Joel and Elton John will be performing at Citizens Bank Park on Thursday July 30 and Saturday Aug 1. The 1 hour preshow and 1 hour postshow to the concert on Saturday at McFadden's Bar in Citizens Bank Park will be performed by local American Idol Alum, Paul Marturano. Marturano grabbed international attention back in January of 2008 when he appeared on American Idol and jokingly sang a comedic song about stalking Paula Abdul in an effort to drive people to his "real music" on the web. Hundreds of radio interviews, articles, television appearances and iTunes sales followed. ”

“Those expecting demented chuckles won’t find much of that here. Marturano is an excellent musician, though, and his piano playing can be quite cinematic, especially on “Strings Attached.” On “Me and Joe” and “The Man,” Marturano switches to Americana, complete with jangling guitars on the former. There’s more feeling on this record than anything you’ll hear on American Idol. ”

“He may have gotten the most recognition by appearing on American Idol, especially with his “Stalker” song for Paula Abdul, but if Paul Marturano wants r-e-s-p-e-c-t, he’ll need an album such as Bucks County to earn it. Released a year before the American Idol madness, Marturano is no short-lived novelty act on Bucks County.”

“Clearly Paul Marturano (http://www.paulmarturano.com) was too good for "American Idol." Recorded prior to his infamous "American Idol" bit of performing his song "Stalker" to Paula Abdul, "Bucks County" sounds like the work of a different artist. There are no goofball antics on this record; in fact, it's pretty somber, reflecting on love lost and found. It can be caustic, too, as on "Strings Attached," wherein Marturano busts out of a one-sided, suffocating romantic relationship. Those who miss Billy Joel's edgier side (no, not "Uptown Girl") will be able to spot the influence here. "Bucks County" is much better than I expected from anybody associated with "American Idol." Even Abdul never put out a respectable LP such as this.”

Alexis Cohen, the woman who didn't just look like an acid trip—she managed to re-create one in two minutes: I'm happy and sparkly! I'm singing Jefferson Airplane! I'm okay with your criticism. I am confused! I am angry!! (Oh, and who sang "Allentown" again?) 2. The feel-good story of the night: Angela Martin, the mother of a sick child who could be a real contender 1. Paula Abdul's crazed psycho-fan Paul Marturano, who like a Beastie Boy rhymed "stalker" with "Peter Falk-er" and "Jimmy Walker" ”

“Paul Marturano, the off-the-wall comic/accomplished pianist from Philadelphia who recently appeared on American Idol and caught the nation's attention as Paula Abdul's 'Stalker', has recently released the absolutely hilarious star-studded must see Official Stalker Music Video on the ever popular YouTube. Since Paul Marturano's appearance on American Idol. He has conducted close to 150 radio interviews internationally, he was the lead story on Access Hollywood, and on Wednesday, Jan 16 and Thursday, Jan 17, Paula Abdul's Stalker was the most searched phrase on Google, MSN, and AOL.”

“Paul Marturano sang a love song dedicated to Paula that was all about stalking her. Paul's hilarious song "Stalker" included several humorous lines, and Paula was simultaneously amused and creeped out. Eventually, Simon lost patience, and security showed Paul the exit doors. Paul took the time to sit with us for an interview and discussed various aspects of his interview process. Paul discussed his other musical endeavors and also what happened to him after security escorted him out of the audition room. ”

“Season seven is underway for American Idol and Paula Abdul "stalker" Paul Marturano may be the biggest goofball hit of the first two nights of action on the popular Reality TV show that is broadcast on Fox network television.”
