Pale Green Stars / Press

“Pale Green Stars are a standout band. This Syracuse-based band is part country, part punk, part alternative, and all entertaining. Upon first listening, the vocals of Jeff Jones has his own distinct style and great stage presence. This three-man crew of talented musicians performed many originals from their album The Honkytonk Years.... Do yourself, and the band, a favor and purchase the album outright. It’s a good summer soundtrack.”

“Pale Green Stars is a fantastically fun amalgamation of rockabilly, alternative rock, and newgrass that’s definitely shaken, not stirred. It’s a little gritty, on purpose, which is evident as soon as the band hits any moment of their amazing often three part harmonies. Most of the time, though, the guitar is like crunchy peanut butter- thick, chewy, evident and present and the drums would appear thrashing if you couldn’t see and feel the control.”

“Pale Green Star’s fiery showcases of brawny rock ‘n’ roll are special events for fans of the rollicking trio.”

“Pale Green Stars are Super High Throttle Punkadelic Pandemonium. Kicking up a party hard frenzy everywhere they play, Pale Green Stars Cranks out massive guitars, wailing vocals, and mad drumming with a superstar style that dominates any house they play. With a full band sound, this powerhouse trio sets every stage on fire with blazing hot originals with an alternative edge that never stops. and a rock till you drop vibe that cant be beat”

“Pale Green Stars has just been mistaken for one of those cow-punk power trios you might find rocking a stage behind chicken wire at some wayward Texas roadhouse. Pale Green Stars is letting its New York grown cow-punk steer deep into the heart of Texarkana as they redefine gut-bucket twang with a punkadelic cutting edge that’s as sharp as a barbershop straight razor”

“...You guys are like The Flying Burrito Brothers on Steroids and LSD”

“Pale Green Stars blends the blare of Blues, Alternative Country and Rock for a sound that is so sweet and an energy that is so explosive. With a hard as nails edge and songs that are incredibly well crafted, Pale Green Stars bridges the gap between old memories and new ones with a style and stage presence that is nothing short of kick ass.”

“Pale Green Stars "The Honky Tonk Years" puts all the attitude of this three-piece on display. Mixing Rock, Country and Blues together with a serious kick, the band never fails to bring the energy or the sweat. Front man Jeff Jones' lyrics match his guitar work: dirty and unapologetic.”

“Pale Green Stars ‘‘The Honky Tonk Years’ sounds like a back-country, guns, porch and pickup kind of record. Songs like ‘Lesson 27’ drip with dirty slide guitar and a fair explanation (‘Most people call me white trash, Im just a different kind of pretty’).”

“Pale Green Stars humorous spin on work, love and life struggles combined with talented musicianship make for an enjoyable album from start to finish. "Never Took Nothin'", a ditty about love, doing time and getting pulled over brings the listener to the moment those red lights start flashing on the highway.”
