Good afternoon:

Hello. I am Earl DeMot, a teacher at Virginia Beach Public Schools (presently Tallwood High School / Global Studies and World Languages Academy. First and foremost, I am a teacher, and have taught in the fields of English, ESL, history, drama, business studies, and methodology. I have taught six month olds to retirees in both Public and private schools in the US and in Europe and have taught in three different national curriculums. In short, I teach.

Presently, I have been tasked with scheduling peformers for the Global Academy Boosters first annual Internaional Gala, and although I've many leads, I've not as many confirmations as I would like. The performance is on May 3rd from 7 to 9 (roughly). I really should say the performances, because the idea is to gather performers for a set of 7-10 minute slots, so that Act I would involve approximately 6-7 performers from 7 pm to 8 pm. A short intermission would follow, and the 8:10-9:00 portion (Act II) would involve 5-6 performances, totaling, ideally about 12 performances.
The overall idea for the performances is to celebrate the rich variety of the globe, entertain the audience with professional level performances, encourage/promote the talents of the individuals and groups kind enough to volunteer their time, and raise money for international travel within the Global Studies and World Languages Academy (www.tallwoodhs.vbschools.com).
As I have been nominated the liaison and creator of the schedule, I would like to thank in advance any willing performer on behalf of the Academy Boosters as well as my director at the GSWLA. Although the ideal situation is to have 10 minute performances, there is certainly a great deal of "wiggle room" in the schedule. Please contact me at earl.demott@vbschools.com if you would like to discuss your involvement, whether it be an actual slotted performance, or permission to use your work during preshow/ intermission/ post show periods.
Again, thank you in advance.
