hey anton, I recently bought an audio interface (music box) and it requires firewire and etc. I bought an adapter for my mac which requires thunderbolt and it says that to connect it you need a firewire 800.

With the audio interface it says it comes with a firewire 400 cable 6-pin to 6-pin and firewire 400 cable 6pin to 4 pin.

If I go for this firewire do you think it will fit into my mac adapter and the audio interface? I can also send you the link for the audio interface as well

I read about it, and it seems that it is possible to work using the cable adapter you mention.
this is the text:
A FireWire port has many advantages compared to a USB port. FireWire hard drives, for example, transfer faster than USB data and can be chained together. A computer that has a FireWire 800 port can not be connected to a FireWire 400 device to a FireWire adapter unless used. You can use a device equipped with FireWire 400 and one FireWire 800 port adapter interposed between the two. The procedure is simple and does not physically alter or device to FireWire 400 or FireWire 800 port.
