Gene Casey and Lone Sharks / Comments

I have never bought a CD by a local artist that I played more than once. Usually, you buy the disc at a free show to support the artist, you put it on in the car for the drive home, and you realize the act isn't quite as good as you thought while you were all hyped up at the show. Not only have I played "Untrained" more than once, but I have since purchased almost the entire Gene Casey & The Lone Sharks catalog online to create a custom compilation CD that I play over and over and over again. This is by far my favorite CD right now, and I am really tough on "new" music. If you're a fan of the rockabilly stuff, definitely go back and get yourself some of the songs off this band's other CDs. It's really too bad the business of "real" music is dead, because Gene Casey & The Lone Sharks would be tearing it up right now. Every song sounds like a classic, like something you've been humming all your life. Yet, it all sounds totally fresh and new. Hard to explain. Go see these guys in concert and check out their downloadable catalog. You will NOT be disappointed!
