:Reviewing this artist is what turned us on to reverb:
I was recently turned onto this particular artist by a friend. He originally comes from Vegas but that is of no concern since he lives here now. His artist name is "DyeVerse". This is an artist who has the ability to make you see things differently with his lyrics. RENO UNDERGROUND is happy to showcase this week this amazing Musician. We recently had the pleasure of reviewing a song by DyeVerse en tilted "The Outside". We were quite impressed with everything about this composition. The music grabs you, the lyrics move you, and the fact that he does all the production by himself astounded us! There is plenty of artists out there in the rap/hip hop genre today, but there aren't many who can touch your soul. But don't take our word for it. The piano in this song almost made me teary eyed, although the song itself is not sad, it is actually very insightful, the music just kind of grabs on tight and never lets go. What surprised the team and I the most was, He does everything you hear by himself. We listen to plenty of music... and I say this with confidence. Most of the time when we hear something that was made by the artist, you can tell. Music is always flat, vocals way to loud, or the artist is using an instrumental of a song already out there. DyeVerse has a great ear. The songs are mixed well for a home recording and sound very professional. What most people fail to realize is...
When your'e recording your own vocals, you have to be aware of your levels, watching the monitors, keeping your head still so the vocals dont fade in and out, all without letting those things you HAVE to think about make you stumble on your words. On top of that, you have to be in an open room in order to do all that. Mixing becomes crucial, now you have the potential for a numerous array of background noises to mix out. When DyeVerse told us that he did all this on his own, we were shocked at the quality of of the sound. We would have never guessed that the vocals were recorded in an open room! We feel he has what it takes to go as far as he wants too. I asked him what he wanted out of music. He said
"I just want people to enjoy what they hear and hopefully plant some seeds of wisdom at the same time". "I Have never had any lessons on any of the instruments I play. So if I feel as though I've was blessed freely, so It is hard for me to want people to pay for my music." It is not about the money at all."
When I asked him about the track "The Outside" and asked if we could showcase it, he said yes. All he could say about the song though was this...
"When i created this song, it was almost like I was on auto pilot. It was kinda weird".
That was a strange way of describing how a song was made. But none the less, it is perhaps one of the deepest songs I have heard in a very long time. So enjoy!! If you would like more info on this artist here is a link to his main page. Below is a widget containing just the one song we are highlighting.
