Mr. Cheeks – “STOP THE VIOLENCE” CONCERT Raleigh Nov 20

The excitement and anticipation is starting to build on November 20, 2010 with the “Stop the Violence” (STV) concert that will transpire at Yancy’s restaurant. Yancy’s is located at 2800 Rock Quarry Road, Raleigh, NC 27610.The concert starts at 9 PM and concludes at 2 AM. This concert promises to be a dazzling event as world famed recording artists perform and celebrity guests will be in attendance. This occasion was made possible by the engineering of 85/40 Promotions and sponsored by “the King of beers” Budweiser and Radio One. 85/40 Promotions is a dynamic promotional entity that joins the forces of Vyzion Entertainment, StreetSider’s, and Luva’sLounge into one powerful entertaining conglomerate.

National hip-hop star, formerly of the Lost Boyz, Mr. Cheeks will be performing the main event. The Lost Boyz were a 3 time gold award winning group whose philosophy was to practice a honest and cultured style of New York hip-hop. This group is an underground favorite and they received significant critical acclaim from their peers. Mr. Cheeks has resurfaced as a solo artist in 2001 and is setting his mark in the hip-hop world. In his solo career has collaborated with Mario Winans, Lil Kim, Ryan Young, and Lakey the Kid. Mr. Cheeks remains a close friend and business partner with Stephen Marley, son of the iconic and legendary reggae superstar, Bob Marley. Gypsy Stokes who recently signed to Akon’s Konvict Muzik label will also take the stage and perform. Stokes is an R&B/pop sensation who is an accomplished singer and songwriter. This exciting entertainer is the originator of a new sub genre of music entitled “Alternative Street Soul.” DJ Candy is scheduled to run the music and sound board. This prolific DJ is signed with Konvict Muzik, as well, and is on the move. DJ Candy is a proud advocate for his “Stop the Violence” campaign. He has worked with legendary entertainers such as Akon, T.I., Lil Wayne, and over 900 celebrities in over 30 countries. It has been said of him that he puts the “P” in a party. The rest of the roster slated to perform at the STV concert are: Nino Brown is a hip-hop artist who rapped on the opening and closing tracks of the New Jack City 2 album. Lamar Brace aka L.B. will delight the crowd to his brand of GoGo Swing style of music. Kel B. is a smooth and exciting R&B crooner Miss Rachel who has been dubbed “The Princess of Pop” The multi-talented reggae band Crucial Fiya Neo-Soul extraordinaire K-Soul With such talent and electrifying performances, the “Stop the Violence” show is destined to be a smashing success.
