Done singing!

Yo, Romeos. I'm proud to say that I've finished recording my lead vocals for the album. I went all-out with the final track, "Worth Breaking," completing a collection of vocal performances that are searingly edgy and powerful. I have no problem saying that my work on this record is the best I've ever done, and after a few more sessions of backup voices and special guest appearances WHITE NOIZE CITY will be sent for its final treatments and made available to the public. Look for our first single, "Flies on the Horses" within the next few weeks, and thanks for being so awesomely patient!!!!

Way to go Timbo!

And that is a wrap on Tim Borgares! Timbo came into the studio last night to finish up the very last of his guitar tracks, the super-duper-complicated "Electric Al." We're proud to say that the song sounds absolutely crushing, just a perfect way to cap off his parts for the album. Tim now joins Alex and James in the club of people who are finished playing their parts for WHITE NOIZE CITY (that's the title of the record, if you didn't know), leaving Andrew all by his lonesome in the club of people who should get their asses back to work!!!

Well, I'm going to get my ass back to work folks. Today I'm ripping into a few solos, completing MY guitar for the album, and then taking a stab at my remaining vocal tracks. In a few days, we'll get the guys back in to do some gang vocals and background stuff. AND then spend some time with keyboards, weird sound effects, and guest stars.

The recording of this album is drawing to a close, guys. I know we're well past our originally stated release date. I know there's plenty to do before anything can be released. But bear with us, because what we're creating is awesome to behold. As Mr Angus Livingstone dubbed it, WHITE NOIZE CITY is perhaps "the most ambitious indie album ever made." Someday soon you will get to hear why.

peace and love. Andrew

So close!!!

We've been working and working and working.... It definitely takes a long time to make a great album when music is not your full time gig. BUT this week we will see the final recording sessions for the WHITE NOIZE CITY album!!! Thirteen original cuts, full of BR's raw passion and finely honed rock expertise. Thirteen tracks that will tear out of your speaker cones and make the neighbours wonder what the hell is going on next door... cause it sounds like fun :)

After that, we've got to go and get the thing mixed and mastered. Keep in mind that might take a while. And then we've got to set up the physical manufacture of the discs. Then online release. Then we'll put together a kickass release party. And you'll all be blown away, I promise.

It's a matter of time now!

Work in Progress

As you're aware by now, our new album WHITE NOIZE CITY is currently under construction. Drums were finished a while ago, same with bass. We are working on guitars!!! there are about 60 guitar performances to get through for the album (that's a lot), so this part might take us a while. But rest assured that we ARE working, and the stuff we've finished so far sounds extra-cool. I wish I could give you a teaser track right now, but no such luck. We will be releasing a single for free download in the near future though!!! In other news, y'all should come check out our show on March 1st (Alex's birthday) at the Artful Dodger. We're trying to get into Canadian Music Week and we'd love some support! Andrew / BR

The Next Step!

Braindead Romeo is proud to announce that we have begun work on recording our next record!!! We'll be the first to say that our last album, SOUL'D OUT, is one hell of a tough act to follow, but looking through the pile of new material I like our odds! You may have heard some of these tunes at our recent shows this summer (like "Sober" and "Flies on the Horses"), where they received some great reviews - and were a ton of fun to play. ----- Drums are already completely finished (James is a rockin' machine) and we're going to get a start very soon on the bass tracks, so if you see Alex you should wish him luck! ----- I'll keep you cats posted on further developments, and fingers crossed we can get it to you (and online) before too long.

The Regina Rock Union

Yo, romeos. First off, just wanted to send a big thank-you to the folks who came out to support the launch of our new album, Soul'd Out. We had an amazing show with some great local talent backing us up. You made the difference! We had the show recorded, and we're just waiting on the resulting CD to get into our hands. All four bands from the night will appear on this album, in a "best of" compilation which we are GIVING AWAY FOR FREE. Interested? Wanna get your hands on a copy? All you have to do is join the Braindead Romeo mailing list (fan us) and we'll send you out a link to download (again, for free) the album which we are tentatively calling "The Regina Rock Union." That's all it takes!!!! I hope you check it out, get a glimpse of Regina's live rock scene, and let us know what you think. BR is going to be releasing exclusive content (ie. songs that DO NOT appear on our album), so don't miss out on this limited package!

Soul'd Out RELEASED!

Hey romeos!!!! We're getting close now to the formal release party for our album, Soul'd Out, which is taking place on February 10th over at the Exchange! We've already sold a bunch of copies to our friends and families (for now, every CD sale gets you a free ticket to the Feb 10 show). So it is my expert opinion that you should definitely come to the show, buy a CD, or a t-shirt, or whatever.... essentially, please just give us your money. Because we spent a ton of the stuff making this record AWESOME. No time? It should be available very soon for sale on iTunes, Amazon, and can be ordered into HMV stores! This album was great to make, and hopefully we can do it again for you soon, because the Braindead Romeo vault is already brimming with material.

Soul'd Out

Well, we're finally here! Our much-anticipated (mostly by us) sophomore album release is now only days away, and we're stoked. As you may have heard, the process of recording it has been pretty complicated. We did 5 tracks at cinnamon string studios here in Regina. Unfortunately, the mixes didn't turn out quite the way we wanted and we spent a lot of hours making edits from home. Then we sent it off for mastering. While the tracks were away, we decided we were going to make some little 'extras' for the fans... and by that I mean recording an acoustic track, an industrial/electronic track, and a couple of cool sound effects tracks. The mastered songs are now back in our hands, and now it's time to actually just physically make the product. I know it's been a long wait, but we are getting really close now. Look for the actual release party in January, but until then you can get your copy by getting ahold of one of the guys in the band! Cheers! Andrew Braindead Romeo

Louder Than Life

Hey everyone on the cyberweb... By way of greeting, we're Braindead Romeo and we like to play. Ting. That's about all you need to know. We're loud and brash and we are just a little bit insane but that's a good thing when you're in a rock n roll band. So! Next time we're playing you should definitely come check it out and buy our shit cause that's how we pay for stuff. Like gas. And cool lights. And pre-show burger runs. And, you know, doing shows in the first place. Woo!
