My First Youtube Video

I finally joined the ranks of the millions of people adding videos, music, etc. to Youtube. I also learned how to use Microsoft Live Movie Maker. I always like the challenge of learning new things and this was a very big challenge to learn how to do this video. I took my song 'Silly Milly' and did a slide show of all my dogs from the past several years in addition to some border collies I fostered for a rescue group. I learned how to download all the photos and music, then went through the tidious process of figuring how to time the photos to the music, fade in new pictures, and all the other details to make this video. After tweaking, and tweaking, and tweaking some more, I finally got it and posted it to youtube. Check it out. I am very proud of myself and I think it is pretty good for a first one if I say so myself!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XoTk4t6PMGw

Gearing Up For 2012

The holidays are over and I took a small break after releasing 'Rebirth From Fire'. Funny how doing an album takes a lot out of you. Awesome experience, however!!! Now it is time to get out there and play gigs again in order to get more folks to hear my music. I am now schedeled at 'The Fillin Station' for Writers Night and for Debi Champions Writers Night at the Commodore Grille. Check my show schedule for times and come hear me play live!!! I hope all my fans have had a chance to listen to all ten songs that are now available on reverbnation. If not, I invite you to go to my songs on the store and take a listen!! See you at a gig!!! What a Year

As we come to the close of 2011, I look back at the progress in my music and I really took a big leap forward. This time last year, I was just starting my first album, just beginning to play gigs, and was still in the middle of the family trauma that had all but consumed my life. As the year unfolded, the progress of my album gave me lots of confidence in my music ability and the last four songs for the album were written. The family issues in my personal life finally calmed down so I could get a chance to breathe and heal. Another interesting thing happened, my voice started getting better and stronger. Having the instrumental part of the album done around May gave me something to sing to. By the time we recorded the vocals in June and July, my voice was so much better than even 6 months before. I was finally able to show that I really could sing. I knew I could sing (Not sure anyone else knew it) because I had done it before, but taking a 30 year break did nothing for the voice. My playing ability started to improve this year and I became not nearly as nervous as I had been. Each time I played out I learned something that helped with the confidence level. The photo session for the album came in August and I met my goal for getting those extra 45-50 pounds off before the shoot. All that hard work paid off with some awesome photos!! The album was finished in October and released on November 19th. Not sure I will be albe to top this past year, but maybe I don't need to yet. A little R & R will be good for the soul. Maybe I will a new songs or two out of the deal!!
