Sup family? I've seen alot of posts on FB, Twitter , and just about everywhere else that has a rap site about the term "hip hop". As an 80's baby myself, I for one can say that i'm glad to say that I had a chance to be a part of the "Golden Age". Ya know the Trybe Called Quest, Black Sheep, Kwame, Leaders Of the New School, KRS ONE era. I learned about the mentality that is "hip hop". The whole "fight the system" or "no sell out " era. This embodied what that term really was. Hip hop to me isn't a genre or style of music. It's a way of thinking. Hip Hop can be the way you dress, the way you draw, the way you act or the places you like to go. I think that we need to get back to that. I see soooo many artist on this site and wonder "why the hell isn't he or she signed"? The answer is simple. The industry model. Thing is that according to most Vp's of labels the model is outdated due to the internet and the ability to become you own "label". So why is it that we still have the exact same nonesense coming out on the radio? Probably because some of us like to be brainwashed into listening to music that is total nonesense. Time to change tha game folks . TIME TO BE HEARD!! Salute!! Mistah D.R.E.D.
