CAROLINE BLUE  (about 14 years ago)

-Hi everyone! Saturday (3/20/2010) found the band opening for The Bomb @ Fusions in N. Syracuse, NY. The place has had a number of changes since we were there last month. A brand new stage had been built w/ a great lights/sound system in place. Much more room as well. The last stage we could barely move on it.

-We were originally told to go on either at 9:30 or 10 so in our promos we said we were going on at 9:30. Once we got everything set up, we were told that the owner of the place wanted The Bomb on stage @ 10:30. With an hour set and change over, we'd have to start earlier. No biggie-we're flexible (not that way-HA!) so we dumped a few songs off our list and started at 9:15. Here's what we played

-Nothing Will Satisfy You
-Dead or Alive
-Out of My Life (I Want You)
-Voodoo (Godsmack)
-Cold Gin (KISS)
-Pain
-Dirty Deeds (AC/DC)
-Seek & Destroy (Metallica)
-Detroit Rock City (KISS)
-Love Me or Leave Me
-Ace of Spades (Motorhead)

-Turns out the The Bomb does many of the same covers we do so we put more originals into the set than normal so as not to tread on The Bomb. Again-we're flexible and not a problem for us. Honestly, it felt good playing more of our own stuff. We should do that more often :)

-The crowd started to get bigger by the time we got through 3/4 of our set. We received a good response from the crowd thruout. We also received a lot of compliments afterwords-which is always nice to hear. We also heard a lot of "sorry we missed you-we thought you were going on later" comments but those things happen. We had a good time and it was nice to see a bunch of familiar faces in the crowd.

-The Bomb went on at 10:30 and played 3 sets of covers-some very cool selections if I may say so. They sounded great and hopefully we'll be doing some more shows w/ them in the future.

-On behalf of CAROLINE BLUE, I'd like to thank The Bomb for having us share the stage w/ them. Fusions for having us there and most of all the people who were there. We hope you all had a great time this night & keep rockin!

-Hi there! Saturday 3/13/10 finds CAROLINE BLUE back again to Hotel Adams (Adams, NY) for another night! Things awere a little different this night because sound/lights were being done by John Price so we didn't have to arrive so early. We weren't sure how things would go w/ it being St. Patricks weekend (and we found out @ the end of the night that there was an Irishfest going on nearby) plus the weather wasn't the best. ENCORE

-SOBER (TOOL)

-This was an interesting night. Doc's foot was still injured so he sat on a stool onstage during the whole show. During "Comedown" I broke a string but was able to get back in before the song ended. I had this feeling to bring a 3rd guitar w/ me that was a six string and I was right. I had my 7 string of course, but I only use it on a few songs. As I found out the hard way in the past, it can be a little tricky playing a song on a 7 string that you normal use a six string for.

-The crowd started to thin out towards the end of set 1 and Keith was even saying we could close down early if we wanted to-but then a group of new rowdy people came in and ,while we did stick to what we had planned to play to a degree, we basically just took requests-hence why you see a number of repeats. What was great to hear were requests for our originals. "Out of My Life" got a pretty big response here. The crowds @ Adams seems to like the heavier stuff in general.

On behalf of the band, I want to thank Hotel Adams & their staff for having us there-you guys always treat us well. Thanks to John Price for the great job he did w/ lights/sound.Most of al, thanks to the people who came out to see us! It's great to see old friends at every show up here-and even better when we make new ones. We'll be back @ Hotel Adams on 4/10-don't miss it!

2/22/10-Music Video Shoot-"Pain"

MUSIC VIDEO SHOOT-"Pain" Current mood: busy Category: Music

-It's been awhile since CAROLINE BLUE did a video shoot. I believe the last one was with the song "Slave to the Hourglass" in 2006. I love being in music videos-not only for the obvious promotional reasons in helping a band, but also the creative side. Since Doc & Joe had never done a music video before and this was the 1st time we-as a unit-worked with producer Ron Bonk, I kept things pretty simple. Only a few scenes and even they weren't that hard.

-I 1st met Ron when he was doing a video shoot for the band Zadoc...& The Nightmare. I was impressed w/ his work on their video "Bathory's Web." We used to have UVTV shoot our videos but they've moved to another state years ago. I next came in contact w/ Ron last year when he was auditioning for his new movie "Ms. Cannibal Holocaust" (which I have a small role in). We talked on & off from time to time about him shooting some music videos for CAROLINE BLUE and finally, in 2010, the ball got rolling & here we are!

-This was for the song "Pain" which is on the CAROLINE BLUE CD "Not For The Innocent." I've had the guidelines for this video (and several others actually) floating in my head for a few years now. I'd even discussed it w/ Rich from UVTV when they were still in NY state. The video was shot on Monday 2/22/2010 @ The Gear Factory in Syracuse, NY. I'd met with it's owner-Richard Destito-a month earlier and felt this was the right place to help turn my guidelines into reality.

-It took just under 4 hours to get all the shooting done. Ron had brought some extra lights in-which helped a lot. I had Joe bring his lap top & surround sound speakers for play back. This was a lip-synch video-which gives things a more pro look & sound. Doc had brought some mic stands to make things look more "real" (like we were actually playing), but I scrapped that pretty quick. Take a look at our 'Slave to the Hourglass" and/or "Mine, Mine, Mine" lip synch vids. It's pretty obvious very quickly that we're lip syncing-which is fine w/ me. A big thing w/ me in regards to music videos is expression & creativity. We didn't do too much on the creative side, per say, on this, but I believe there's loads of expression in this one.

-Unfortunately, Doc slipped on some ice before things started and hurt his ankle pretty badly. It was also pretty cold in here. I remember seeing Joe standing near the lights a lot for warmth. Ron was very patient w/ us and it was great working w/ him. He even showed us some of the playback of what he filmed. I think he got some really great angles. I had my camcorder off to the side running-hence where a good chunk of the pics came from. I will say though that there's going to be a lot more camera work involved that what those pics suggest.

-There was a possibility of a girl being involved in this shoot via our management GIO Entertainment, but things fell thru at the last minute & they couldn't make it so we just carried on.

-We then went to a Chinese Restaurant to eat & talk over stuff. Joe had 2 1/2 plates and I barely had 1 (have to keep the girlish figure you know-HA!). Doc had 4-5 plates. He said "these places never make their money off of me." :)

-So now starts the editing-which wil be done by Ron. We're all very anxious to see the final results. As soon as we get a copy, we'll let everyone where they can go to see it. Hope you all enjoy the pics and keep checking back for more updates!

CAROLINE BLUE  (about 14 years ago)

Hi Everyone!

-This Saturday night CAROLINE BLUE played it's 1st show ever at a place called Fusions in N. Syracuse, NY.. This was a "last minute" show in which the show was only confirmed 5 days earlier. The club did get an ad in the paper and we did manage to get some online promo done. The booker-Richie-was going to be providing lights/sound for us this night.

-We get there and get things ready for the show. Here's the setlist for this night

-WON'T BE HOME TONIGHT
-NICKELBACK-HOW YOU REMIND ME
-MINE, MINE, MINE
-FILTER-WELCOME TO THE FOLD
-INSIDE VER. 2.0
-GODSMACK-WHATEVER

-The show was a little rocky in the beginning, but we found our groove soon enough. We had a request to do "Beth" so after we did "Detroit Rock City", I sang most of it solo. BTW-if Michelle is reading this-remember that bet you were telling me about? You would've won in at the start of our 2nd set :)

-Fusions is realy laid out very well and looks great. Plenty of parking and clean. The sound/lights were from Tim Schad & company & they did a great job.Maybe a touch too much fog :) The crowd was small but we seemed to be getting some great responses to the songs we did-covers & originals. We had a few mishaps this night. Because of the response to some of our originals, I went into networking mode-which is what you should do-but I forgot to monitor the time and, as such, our break went on longer than it should have. My fault. A number of people left and Richie asked us if we wanted to cut the night short or not. After a quick discussion, we decided to soldier on. So why is SET 2 so short? Well, on "Mine, Mine, Mine" I broke a string. I had the 7 string for the songs that we do that require it, but I admittedly am not used to playing most of our other songs with it. You would think that the addition of just 1 string isn't much, but the guitar becomes a different animal with just that 1 addition. So instead of subjecting the people still there to me possibly messing up songs, I made the decision to call it. Then Richie came over & asked if we could keep going-some more people had just showed up. We said yes, but then found out the sound company had already started to tear down their gear so we couldn't. My bad.

-For all of us @ CAROLINE BLUE I want to give a huge thanks for Richie & the crew @ Fusions for having us here. Huge thanks to Tim Schad & his sound crew and, most of all, thanks to all the people that were here. I know there was a lot going on this night and this was a last minute gig, so we appreciate all the people that were there. saw some people we haven't seen in awhile.

-We're going to be back @ Fusions on March 20 opening for The Bomb. Hope to see you all there!
