People's Blues of Richmond / Blog

Hey peoples thanks for tuning in and checking all of this melarky out. As the title explains we have just finished recording our very first album done by the amazingly badass and awesome Lance Koehler at Minimum Wage Recording Studio. Its insane how within a year we've been able to put this all together and it really couldn't have happened without the love, dedication, inebriation and above all mental fortitude of our fans, you guys have been coming out to all of our shows from day one as well as helping us book shows and this album is as much yours as it is ours, everyone of you are on this album in one way or another so in the only way possible to say this, thank you so much. MUCHOS GRACIAS!!! We recorded the album in about three days with Lance and have put nothing but originals on it, for a little taste of what we did there will be two songs out on the internet on Reverbnation, Myspace and of course Facebook ('For Your Love' being a cover will not be on the album so enjoy it through ye olde interwebe). We have big plans coming up within the next two months and especially this summer and so i figured this blog is going to be a good way to communicate what we've got coming up. Starting things off we will be opening up at The Hat Factory May 22nd for the Farm Vegas CD Release Party this will be a party of epic proportions so we sincerly hope to see a lot of you there! The next weekend on May 28th we will be playing at The National with a plethora of Local Richmond bands for a James River Music Showcase; both of these shows will have tickets for sale at the 10 $ mark, though day of the show purchases might be a little bit more expensive so give us a holler and will hook you guys up. Between these shows we will be playing some out of town shows and a small festival in Ashland so stick around for the details on that one. The Big news of course is what this blog is all about; our very own and very first CD RELEASE PARTY WHOOO!!!! This will be going down June 19th @ The Camel with our good friends Farm Vegas opening up for us, leading up to the show we will shoot up the east coast for a little tour before heading back down and have a real hootenanny-hoedown on the 19th. Our CD will be for sale at the show and afterwards will be available through itunes, amazonmp3, lastfm, zune and all that other nonsense if you cant make it to the show in person and would like a copy of the album. Like i said this is a collective effort on everyones part and from me and the boys in the band we really want to thank all of you involved in our everyday lives, its truly been a wild ride and all of ya'll have been a part of it, so once again MUCHOS GRACIAS and we hope to see all of you in the near future and in the great cosmos somewhere sometime soon!!! mohalo raph
