Hi! I hope you all have had wonderful Labor Day weekend. I can't express how awesomely relaxing it was to actually have a full day off to smoke some of my world famous ribs and guzzle down a few Coronas! Music Notes: I have a bunch of solo acoustic shows this month at some of my favorite venues, including: Bistro 33 Davis, Sienna Restaurant, and Pizza Rock (all upcoming shows in September are listed below). Side Note: As we all have heard by now, the multi-talented Robin Williams has sadly passed away. I bring this up to give you a brief tidbit of awesomeness because back in 1989, I was an extra in the box office hit, "Dead Poets Society". My parents, grandparents, and uncle were also extras, and my cousin Allison was the fairy in the play! Looking back, it was an amazing experience. You can even see me if you watch my scene in slow motion! (High Five!) Please enjoy my video of the month of me covering the Foo Fighter's classic, "Everlong": www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZMMfi8WWyY Thanks so much for your continued support! Quinn www.quinnhedges.com P.s. I made $130 for the full day of work on the set of Dead Poets Society. P.p.s. What did I do with that $130?? Well, I picked up my very own original Nintendo Entertainment System. P.p.p.s. After taking the month of November off, I’m ready to get back into the swing of things! I’ll be playing at some great venues this month, such as: Ten 22, Bella Bru Café (w/Zack Proteau & Andy Dibben), Pizza Rock, and New Years Eve at the Hyatt Regency.
All in all, 2013 has been a pretty awesome year! Some notable musical highlights include singing the National Anthem at a Kings vs. Lakers game in March (one of my proudest moments), my band playing Sacramento’s Concert in the Park series in June (one of my sweatiest moments) , and opening for Nicholas David in October (one of my proudest and sweatiest moments). This year has provided some ups and downs, but it’s how we get back up when we’re knocked down that gives us character, right?! All of these experiences have made me personally grow stronger, musically and spiritually. I’d like to personally thank each and every one of you for the bits of support you have given collectively push me to move forward when it seems like the road is a bit too rough. Thank You, and let’s bring on 2014!!
I wish all of you a safe and wonderful holiday season surrounded with loved ones!
P.s. I’m still having Walking Dead dreams…

I had the distinct honor and privilege of performing the National Anthem for the Sacramento Kings vs. Los Angeles Lakers game last Saturday! It was a bit outside of my comfort zone, but it turned out to be an amazing experience! Knowing how heavily scrutinized the singing of the Star Spangled Banner is, I still felt sure of the words and confident….until about 10 minutes before I was to perform!! As soon I got the call to go on, the doubt and second-guessing crept in. Luckily, when I was in the moment, the right words came out. I can’t tell you how relieved I was when it was all said and done. Check Mark!
Check out the video of the performance here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VajnuW2vaSY
What did you think? Not bad? I was considering sporting a pair of depends underneath my dapper slacks for the performance just in case, but decided to go natural. (No accidents…High Five!!)
