Birds of Fire

This is from aural memory, part of this I never did, but my hand is recovering from two cysts in the palm that numbed/crippled half my hand for two months and until recently no numbness, 5 months numb. Getting speed back.

Can You Beat Zero?

My artist friend James Hahn used to ask this but today it is not a joke. My engineering skills are now zilch so I will spend the $10,000 to hire Ken Wallace who engineers for Mike Stern and others to get a first rate CD produced with A list session men and see where the dice fall. After taxes this year I this may be my only tangible asset in the long run.

Perseverence and Faith

After my BA in classical guitar I had two years of carpel tunnel, then I move to NYC and for over two year did not play either because I had no guitar. Then when I did and the place to play, my hand developed cysts so for 5 months no playing. In essence a long dry period. I knew what I was up against and I was daunted. But buying a Ramirez 2E and a few days of real practice I can see light at the end of the tunnel. I will be better than before with more discipline and knowledge. It took faith to build my studio with the uncertainty of ever playing again meaningfully because the doctors only knew surgery or cortisone shots which ruins tendons in people like me, a guitarist.

Not Prime Time Yet

Honing my Pro Tools skills and getting my hand together and timing.

Written in 2003 I was looking for a bassist to play this but no one could be found, I had a drummer who studied with Tom Knight but I wanted a group and then add a melody or maybe a violin as there were a few who could play this in the Augusta symphony.

My Hand is Coming Along Well

In November I lost function of my left hand and recently I have gain to where I can play a little classically on the electric. These first two tunes were done at 85% or about. The third one is much more demanding and day by day I get better with a little numbness in my playing hand still.

This is the demo with 7 guitar tracks, one of them bass. It is the main idea I want to perfect by redoing all parts, as I experimented here. I layered the TD30KV hybrid drums with David McIlwain playing and then overdubbed with my AC30 and Deluxe Stratocaster on rhythm then recorded three tracks with the Eleven Rack but played bass secondly. The guitar solo is one take after a few hours of noodling. One note was taken out, my hand is doing OK! Not great though.

Studio is Completed!

For $35 and hour and bring your on engineer BYOE, you can have hit record quality as post production is handled by an Emmy and Grammy winning engineer for $100 hr if desired. Other wise it is your mix with me and mastering guru to the stars Earle Holder handling your project. Also looking for motivated musicians to invest time and talent in media music to share profits. My studio has a Les Paul Traditional, Deluxe Stratocaster, two 88 key Kurzweil K2500X, K2600X, one for classical tones the other for modern pop, jazz, rock samples and much more goodies to coax liquid chart buster tunes with. Only Roland drums are used because of sound issues but the TD30K module and KV snare and K toms along with DW 9000 and 5000 components will make your drummer feel right at home. Obviously rates will climb next year but for now you're safe. Only clean positive music will be accepted for recording time. We have a promotion department in Alpha International Records to get you recognized world wide with a low budget of $700. David's connections will result in more sales for a good product. And last of all, if the product is unsatisfactory God forbid, the session is on the house. Enjoy, Mike

But For Grace is part of a 10 minute suite in 1979

John Norris( Wall That Rock) and I went for it in 2001 one of my first Pro Tools files. It hit #1 on MP3.com jazz. Thanks, Mike
