Radio Music of the 70's
When I remember songs from the radio stations of the 70’s I remember feeling a sense of positivity, joy and inspiration. A sense of expansion, of spiritual awareness, infinity and the power of universal spirit charges my body like an electrical current. When hear the lyrics I am constantly reminded keep our head up! That things are going to get better! That even though we walk in the material dimension we are still spiritual beings. And we must never forget this important truth.
Radio music of the 70’s was probably the greatest production of music in any era. And this is across the board…..all genre, from County, Folk, Funk Rock and Jazz. It was superior in many ways due to the fact the artists were allowed to create freely. Using rich poetic lyrics that combine imagery and complex storylines. Like Gordon Lightfoot’s haunting, “If You Could Read My Mind”, Jim Croces, “Time in a Bottle”, and Breads “Diary”. Of course the classic “Hotel California” is a cross generational hit that is played at campfires by young musicians. Dolly Parton, Charlie Rich and Glen Campbell county songs were all hits. And we all sang them. John Denver’s Rocky Mountain High” and Thank God I m a Country Boy” all songs their songs went number one on the top 40 charts.
The stories in the songs were often told/song in the 3rd person. Consider Lightfoots “Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald” s Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven”, Elton John’s “Daniel”. Earth Wind and Fire would sing directly at the listener with “Keep You Head to the Sky” and “Shining Star”. It was an art form that is rarely used to day.
That creativity didn’t stop there! There was an explosion of songs that mixed styles. From Steele Dan’s Jazz infused pop, to the band Yes which combined classical music with rock and jazz creating musical compositions that Mozart would have been impressed with. Jethro Tull blazing execution on the flute and of course Pink Floyd! The Philly Sound with Hall and Oates exploded on the scene with the R and B. Earth Wind and Fire with their blend of genre bending music creating a sophisticated blend of gospel, soul, rock and Brazilian rhythms. Reggae became increasingly popular. Black music reflected a message of spiritualty and positivity, and political unrest being as sung by illuminares as Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield, Bob Marley and Stevie Wonder.
Radio stations back in the early part of the 70’s played all songs at that time. There wasn’t segregated radio stations. One particular radio station, KFRC in San Francisco would play Elton John, then Tower of Power and Dolly Parton in the same hour. Songs could be played longer than 3;40 seconds. As far as I know, no one complained. As a kids I sit and sing to every one of those songs.
But it was the live concerts and performances that these trailblazers would shine. The musicianship and performances that execution rivals much of today’s music. Music in those days were a well thought out live arrangements, with sophisticated musicianship, and solid performances. From The Doobie Brothers, to American to Parliament and Al Greene the live sound and musicianship was at a high level!
Often I come across a young boy or girl playing Stairway to Heaven. It makes me smile! Because it offers proof that the Music of the 70’s will endure!
As a musician, songwriter and performer I never get tired of listening to the songs of this period. In fact, I try to emulate them as best I can with my own genre bending sound. Spring has sprung!!!
Hello My Friends Just want shout out a thank you to my friends at Venice Central for last Thursday's great night. Music was amazing and the talent was of the chain! New music coming
Hey All my Friends. What an amazing summer and fall. Started off in June debut my new LA Band and played Minneapolis. Now I am back in the studio recording new EP with Paul Allen my co producer. I am still working on tracks with Benny Steele and we have come up with an awesome song called "I Just Want To Sit in The Sunlight". I will be releasing this song in a couple of weeks so stay tuned.

News about Aphromystic
Hello All Happy Summer Solstice!!!! My favorite time of year when the sun energizes us!! I love the summer especially in NYC! Spiritual Mechanics part 2
Conscious vs Spirit Let’s chat about the functions and nature of the spirit and how it works in your reality. This is a complex issue because the spirit has within 7 planes, 32 functions, 11 facuties, 5 worlds, 14 chakras, 5 elements that I am aware of. So let start with basics by defining Conscious and Spirit because they are NOT the same thing. Conscious is non energetic perception with will and awareness. Spirit is energy that is not self aware. Counter to current opinion Spirit is not a self aware entity. It has no free will or self awareness of any kind. But it has to power to create and generate anything. Spirit is the vehicle for consciousness. Consciousness merges with spirit to influence it to create and experience. So consciousness used it’s will to make suggestion to the spirit. The spirit then goes through to process of bringing the suggestion to reality. Before the universe, with all the planes of existence was generated God/One Self in All Things (OSAT) went through the process of realizing this. Then generated all of creation and united with it. It then deposited its qualities in humanoid type animals to express itself and continues this process indefinitely. Now the question is how do we influence our spirit for Reality Engineering lives. You might kick yourself after this essay because the answer is so simple. You’ll notice that you have been doing this particular technique all of your life and have been taking it for granted. Actors have been doing it for centuries. Your spirit runs every part of you from your body to your relationships. It manifests itself in the automatic functions of your being. If you try to directly “Will” your automatic functions to do something you’ll fail. The spirit can’t be influenced by affirmations while in a normal cognitive state. Try it now by saying “Heart beat faster”. “Tear ducks start to cry”. “Iris dialate”. “Blood rush to my hand”. “Mouth salivate”. You notice that nothing is happening. The key is projecting an image which evokes an emotional response causes the spirit to act in your behalf. Try it now. Imagine your first sexual experience. You favorite foods. Foods or smells that you don’t like. Focus on experiences that brought you joy and sadness. Now try it by going into a meditative state where you can focus on your experiences more directly. You will notice the automatic functions become more stirred under your command. A well trained actor uses the same techniques to stir emotion at will. He/she will use memories and imagination for emotional response during performance. This is especially important for film and television because the camera photographs thought.
This is the first step to Reality Engineering! If you can’t control your automatic functions how can you control the outside reality? This is very important because the spiritual energy that directs your automatic robotic functions also directs the rest of your reality. Exercises Begin by creating sensations within the spirit by remembering pleasurable experience and not so pleasurable experience. Do this while in a meditative state. Write them down. Do it every day for a week. Go through as many experiences as you wish but make sure that the last experience should end in a peaceful state of being. So find within your mind a place or time when you were at peace and stay there for 10 to 15 minutes. It is important to note because the highest state of the spirit and consciousness is peace beyond emotions. Love RC

Spiritual Mechanics
I am truly excited by the staggering amount of information coming forth about spirituality. There seems to be a growing consensus on specific ideas. We are all pretty much in agreement on Positive Thinking, right mindfulness, laws of attraction and the need to be spiritual pure and aligned. Today's new age gurus offer philosophies in which can be seen as the "soft ware" needed to run our spiritual computer/subconscious/spirit/magical intelligence.
When I first stepped foot on the path to perfection I was taught the hardware of the spirit. Over time I noticed that knowledge of the mechanics of the spirit allowed my progression to move rather quickly. The soft ware didn't matter because the mechanics of the spirit had built within them specific Laws that, when followed, allowed not only spiritual growth but the ability to easily manipulate my environment.
When I read the writings of current celebrated Gurus I did notice that some of their philosophies corresponded with these Laws while others didn't so well. I also noticed that certain people had greater success than others. And I wanted to understand why this was so. Because of this I become interested in writing about the mechanics of the spirit and composed a book on this subject call Way and Art of the Magical Intelligence.
This blog is about that.
It is here that I'll give some knowledge on the Spiritual hardware that we can use to supplement with our spiritual soft ware. My hope is that perhaps knowledge of the hardware may give insight to that percentage of people who can't seem to overcome an annoying habit. Or why certain meditations just aren't working for them. Or why despite that fact you have attended every workshop, read every book you still can't past your painful memories.
Spiritual Mechanics will also aid in an activity I like to refer to as Reality Engineering. This is the ability to affect your environment through the Will alone. I have found that individuals who use the hardware of the spirit have higher success rate that those who use just the soft ware alone. It is here I wish to share not just personal experience but the lessons of my teachers over the years.
I will be referencing Western Magick, Kabbalah, Kemitic/Egyptian, African, Hindu as well as clinical psychology and tran-spersonal psychology. Your spirit is quite vast enough to contain the whole universe and in reality it does! So I will do my best to streamline the information. No confusing Eastern terminology or beyond college vocabulary in this blog. Just the facts. Love RC
