Tampa Bay psychedelic dance/pop duo Beatnik Castle featuring Ohsha Kai is putting a unique spin on “Will U B Mine?” Tampa-based rap master Apocalipsis (Apoca for short!) and singer Leemarie – collectively known as Apoca & Leemarie - invaded Pro Star Studios in St. Petersburg and, without haughtiest reservation, tastefully added a unique Latin-flavor to Beatnik Castle’s worldwide smash single:”Will U B Mine?’ “Apoca’s heavy-hitting Latin-flavored rap style rap brought the song to a new level,” says head Beatnik Quincy B. “I always wanted to do a latin version of the song,” confesses Quincy. “I’m actually Hispanic and wrote the original guitar arrangement with a Spanish flavoring. Beatnik fans who’ve heard the single compare it to Beatnik Castle meets Pitbull! That’s definitely an honor,” adds QB. “Apoca and Leemarie bring some salsa to the Beatnik fold!” laughs Beatnik singer Ohsha Kai. “Quincy calls them the Latin version of Beatnik Castle,” she adds. “They have an incredible chemistry together and really perform the song with fire and conviction! It’s really something to watch!” The backing track is the “Will U B Mine?” tribal mix instrumental from Top 10 Billboard artist, remixer, and dance pioneer Georgie Porgie (recently named one of Billboard’s Top 10 Dance/Club Play Artist of the Decade!) with some electronic goodies -including a few Soca and Latin rhythm beats and edits added by Quincy B. “Georgie is a tremendous support and it’s an honor to know him much less work with him on a mix,” exclaims Quincy B. “I mean, he’s in the dubious company of Madonna, Beyonce, Rihanna, Mariah, Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson, and Kim English when it comes to dance music. His accolades have earned him the title ‘Ambassador of Dance Music’ ” Both Apoca and Leemarie were invited by Harry Towers and Beatnik Castle to perform the Latin version of “Will U B Mine?’ (appropriately titled “Tu Puedes ser Mio?”) at the Deet Promotion Showcase at the Winter Music Conference at Twist in Miami Beach Thursday, March 25.They’ve been performing the song consistently since February and both are really excited to be performing with Quincy B and Ohsha. Speaking of Ohsha – the new Beatnik singer, an incredibly-talented Top 10 Billboard artist and current Floridian, will debut her new single “How Do You Mend a Broken Heart (Like Mine)”? at Twist later that evening. In February 2010 Beatnik Castle recently released a limited edition Club Remix CD, but “Tu Puedes ser Mio?”as well as Quincillia’s Reggae Vibe, Euro Techno and 70’s Classic RockVersion were not included but will be available for digital download this spring.
