Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club this Sunday!

HI Everybody!

I JUST GOT SOME AWESOME NEWS that I want to share with you! I'll be playing a show at the ever so lovely Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club this Sunday, June 14th.

It will be my first time performing at this fantastic venue, similar to the Birchmere and Blues Alley, in Bethesda, MD and I really hope you can join me to help make it a fabulous night of music and mayhem! I realize this is a pretty late show announcement but if you can make only one show this Summer, I'd love to see you this Sunday. This show is all ages and tickets are only $5 so please come and bring your friends. Feel free to invite anyone and everyone you know and please help us spread the word via Facebook, twitter, blogging, or a good old fashioned face to face chat ;) Here's the FB link in case you want to rsvp or help us spread the word by sharing it with your friends! https://www.facebook.com/events/1648414308713524/ We'll be playing music 7:30-9:30 PM for your listening pleasure ;) If you're thinking, eh I just went to a Flo Show, read below to see why this one will be a little different...

A few of you may know I recorded a Jazz EP with Frank Mitchell of Thievery Corporation a few months back. While we're not ready to release it yet, I promise to debut one or two of the songs from the Jazz EP at this show so you are guaranteed to hear some new Flo Anito ;) Also joining me on this bill are some really great acts. CaSh and Earle are a cool jazzy vocal/beatboxing duo and Drew Gibson is something of a folk rocker so you'll get a really fun mix of music and styles. Here's a review of my recent show with Drew so you can check out some of what you're getting yourself into: http://dcrocklive.blogspot.com/2015/05/drew-gibson-flo-anito-iota-may-30-2015.html I don't have a review from the last show I played with CaSh and Earle but I can tell you they were phenomenal!

Thank so much for reading this far. Links for the other artists on this bill are below and I really hope to see you Sunday!

Washington Post, Wammies, Atlas/Intersections, NPR, and Jazz - oh my!

Hey Guys! Lots of cool things coming up in the near future! I was nominated for Best Pop/Rock Recording by WAMA DC this year so if you're a Wama member (or want to become one before midnight tonight), please vote for Flo! Here's the link to vote: http://www.wamadc.com/wama/wammies/wambal29.html and a link to the recording that's nominated: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3up-OAFcymg My friend/fellow songwriter recorded it for me at my show in Dublin at Whelan's, one of the early stops on my Euro Tour 2014! I hope you enjoy! In show and press news! I'll be debuting at the Atlas Performing Arts Center (on H St, NE) as part of the Intersections Festival on Saturday Feb. 28 at 7:30 PM! I'm doing one of the free cafe concerts so I hope you can come say hello! The Washington Post Express just gave me a little feature in their article/Venn diagram about it in Thursday's paper! You can see that here: http://www.washingtonpost.com/express/wp/2015/02/19/the-arts-collide-at-the-atlas-intersections-festival/ If videos are more your sort of thing, you can check out of NPR Tiny Desk Contest Submission here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKgvKiFzfPQ Hometown Sounds featured it on their Facebook page which was pretty cool :) The other big story I have going on right now is that I went into the studio and recorded 4 jazz standards with Frank Mitchell (sax player for Thievery Corporation). I'm super excited about the way they turned out so we're going back into to hammer out a few more. I can't wait to share this project with you all! Thanks for reading and stay warm! Flo
