A true Holy Ghost Throwdown at one of North Texas' oldest churches....the 2013 Musical was spirit filled...many thanks to Dr. Uzzel and the congregation of Wayman Chapel AME for your hospitality, warmth and participation.
Rev. KM Williams arranged this show to celebrate Black History Month at Wayman Chapel AME, in Ennis, TX. I have been to this sanctuary before and have always felt the spirit of the Lord within the walls of this house...this evening was no different. Opening this show was Rev. Williams and I before The New Zion Travelers took the stage and ministered through music. Always a spirit-filled show at this church...truly a special night. Thank you Rev. Williams, for all the years of playing with me and for all the years ahead of us! Jeff Stone
With everything I had put into this show to prepare, it was an amazing night that all could feel the Lord's presence. Andre, Charlie and I hit the church around 10am and began setup. Chris came and setup the video and our new friends from HBN came to set up the audio recording. The rest of the band showed up around 1pm and we rehearsed util 5pm.
What took place when we returned for our 7pm show was nothing short of divine alignment.
Rev. Williams picked 2 songs out of 4 that I never heard but the style was one we have played together many times.
TJ from Houston came all the way so we brought him up do showcase his Gospel Rap.
When the full band came back up for the second set, the audience was seasoned for what we had for them. Charlie is an electrifying performer and with God's annointing of delivering his message, he was all that.
When we finished with 'Dance of the Holy Spirit,' we held an altar call that we had answered by everyone coming down to the altar for prayer.
This is what our music ministry is ALL about!

We hit the studio early and hard today and at the end, we had all 8 tracks that we set out to accomplish. The truly amazing manifestation to witness and be a part of was seeing God's work unfold before us...the music flowed; poured through us as our Lord did His work! Finishing up the work from the previous day, before the arrival of the band to finish up the rest of the tracks...it was doing our part so our Lord could do His.
Charlie's cousin, Ms. Minnie and Barry Lawrence, both Ministers from the Ba' Ruch Ministries of Crystal Lake, IL came by to witness what the Lord was doing through Charlie. After talking with her for just a few minutes I understood why God Had chosen her for the work they are doing. We asked Ms. Minnie to lead our prayer prior to us doing our day's work...she inspired us with her words. One of the songs we recorded has an intro to it that leads listeners through a musical and spiritual journey that is both joyful and emotional and will prove that it is truly God's desire to get up and dance and get caught up in the praise...it was spoken to me to ask Ms. Minnie to do the intro...which she did as though (which it was) she was led to the studio on this day, at this time, in this place...to add to this project what she brought to contribute. We are grateful, humbled and blessed by your work, Ms. Minnie, and forever thankful.
The band's performance was nothing short of a divine realization of a spiritual plan executed by God's will and this, His time and in His place, and truly in His way. Under the direction and leadership of my brother, my partner, engineer Andre Collins, 2/3 of this project was captured over a 24 hour time period. Charlie Love and Rev. KM Williams, as this project will showcase, are incredibly talented performers, musicians and true ministers and disciples of the music that our Lord has created. What both of these artist's have mastered within their lives has truly been molded and this preparation for this opportunity to show the world what they are about, is not a mission taken lightly.
The studio, Chrome Attic, of Roger Beu and his Studio Manager Stan McConnell and enginner Kurt Festge, is the perfect place for this project. It's ambience, demeanor, design and structure, laid the groundwork for this evolution. We are once again, humbled, forever and grateful for the true hospitality and blessing you have all bestowed upon us.
I am forever grateful to everyone for taking this journey with me...sharing the opprotunity to serve our Lord with this ministry and be allowed to share with the world what our God has created with us to do...I am forever humbled by this opportunity to be a vehicle for the blessings to be showered upon Rev. Williams, Charlie Love, Sherry Pruitt, the technicians, musicians, marketing/promotion and studio personnel who are all associated with this project...for all of the ministers and churches who have prayed for and with us...for our families whose support we lean on...
We are grateful...we are thankful...we are devoted to this cause.

Chris Austin, Jr. and I arrived in Crystal Lake, IL at Chrome Attic Studios after an uneventful 15-hour drive from Dallas. Special thanks to Roger, Stan and Kurt for making us feel so welcome.
We actually drove straight to O'Hare Airport and played a show with Charlie Love and the Silky Smooth Band at the International Terminal, greeting folks fresh out of customs. Andre Collins flew in time to meet us at the airport so we could all go together.
We then drove to the studio and got settled for the next 2 days of recording.
Yesterday was both magical and truly spiritual. We got 5 out of 8 songs done for the 3 Faces project and will finish up today, as well as the project for Charlie's new CD.
I am so grateful and thankful to everyone who is on this journey with me. God will bless each of you as He is blessing me...
More to come after today...
7/6/2010 Met Rev. Williams so he and I could promote Saturday night's show and the benefit for Southwest Blues Magazine on Sunday. SO many thanks to Sonnyboy Mark and KNON Radio for the opportunity to reach out the radio community in Dallas to preach the word of Saturday's show; the intent of the 3 Faces project and get to play a couple of songs for everyone. Last Friday, Mzee Dillon (VWO - Denton) and I posted flyers all around Denton, and Saturday we were able to take part in the Denton, TX July 4th parade. We had our church van, a street team of 20 and passed out 400 flyers for Saturday night's show. What a blessing it is to be doing work for the Lord, through the church, with musicians and telling our story to the entire world! SO MUCH WORK TO DO IN THE KINGDOM!
