ME on CMT? Pinch me! But not too hard. I don't want a bruise on camera. ;)

Ok, I should be doing laundry while I have a short break instead of being on the computer... I have socks that are practically screaming at me from a pile... but I just wanted to say a quick thank you and an update for all of you who have been so wonderfully supportive. I really owe so much to all of you for your countless prayers and moments of encouragement. You'll never know how much I appreciate it. The past few weeks have been just slightly left of insane. But I'm not complaining. If you would have asked me a month ago if I would be part of a CMT television project where I would be playing bass, singing and doing improv as a comedy character loosely bassed on my life- which, btw, I would name "Betty Jo" after my awesome Mama- I would have said you were nuts. Actually, I would have said "That is pretty possible. This is Nashville, darlin'... anything can and probably will happen." But either way, I would be very excited and grateful for the opportunity. I'm just blown away by how wonderful God has been to me. As for a little tiny insight into the project... the best I can tell you for now... the premise of the show is a documentary style show centering around a hilarious cast of musicans who are in a band called "The Tail Spinners." Yes, like the fishin lure. Think "Spinal Tap" meets "The Office" meets "Flight Of The Concords." Long John Silvers is sponsering the project as part of a co-branded venture with CMT. And, to beat it all, we really are musicians who can really play music. They have cast me as primarily the bass player and a singer, but in the future I may be playing anything from guitar, B3, banjo, washboard, pots and pans, etc. A big shout out to my bass player Aaron Wolfcale for helping me perfect my bass skilz and for lending me his gigantic, green Gibson Victory Bass to use on the show. For the music video we are filming tomorrow, I'll be playing a specially built upright bass shaped like a large boat anchor. As you might have guessed, I'm pretty dang stoked about that idea. I'm honored to be playing with some of the best musicians in town who also happen to be some of the funniest actors I have ever met. The chemestry on the set is awesome. It truly is going to be a great project and I can't wait to get your take on it. The hardest part of filming yesterday was not laughing at some of the antics that unfolded. My castmates take funny to a whole new level. And for those of you who are musicains, you'll definitely love it.;) I know I keep saying this, but thank you all again for your prayers and encouragement. You have all been so wonderful and I hope that I make you proud. I understand just how dad-gum blessed I am to do this and I don't take one minute of it for granted. I only wish that my Daddy was here to see it and laugh at my attempt to make funny jokes. Its strange though, he's a part of this show even though he's not here. Before I run, I'll tell you a quick story about that. For the most part we've made our own character personalities, but the director/producers made some suggestions for us to use as well. One of the suggestions given to me was that my character "Betty Jo" rides horses with her father and they once took a trip on horseback from Canada to Mexico. When I read that on the lead sheet I almost cried. The director has no idea of how much that would have meant to me and Daddy and I was amazed at why he thought of that in the first place. I decided not to tell them about my own Daddy being gone yet, since I didn't want to make anyone uncomfortable. But it made me very happy. And I think somewhere up there Daddy is real happy too. Welp, I'm going to go get some laundry thrown in before I rush off to meeting. I miss you all and I love you bunches. If you get a chance tomorrow, say a quick little prayer for me. We start 7am. Yowza. You truly are the best. Remember to Dream Big and I'll talk to you soon! Love, Misty www.mistyloggins.com
