We have only a few days left until we drop Vol.I WAR MACHINE and we're burnin on all cylinders. As of this writing im puttin the finishin touches on vocals and my solos. As our co-producer Michael "Miggy" Rivera would say "Recording vocals sucks donkey dick".
He's right, vocals blow to record. Luckily I've saved some lead work as a treat to myself after im done singin haha. DJ finished the last of his tracks over the weekend, and to tell yea the truth that guy is a fukin monster on that Spector.
Well as Saturday approaches the three of us are also gearin up to jam the release party that night with our good friends Ketosis and a couple other bands that are pretty slammin.
In the end all of us are stoked to release this fukin thing and I would like to personally thank a few people now, who have helped so much durnin the course of the makin of this album. First I'd like to thank Pops and Gram Nugent, without whom we'd have almost nothin', and for bein one of our biggest support systems. Hilly Rae, again huge support and love, from pictures at shows or regular band pics. Hilly has also helped so much through the years with gear or anythin else she could do! Hate Cat, this fukin guy rules and there's nothin' else to say bout that. Miggy Rivera, without his guidance and honesty its hard to say if this record would have turned out as great as it did without him. Eric Robb, he does our filmin at shows, studio, wherever. Plus he goes on reefer runs for us when we're too busy to go ourselves haha. Alex Kenmore, this guys has pulled the band out of some serious shit in the past and I can't ask for more, seriously a great fella. Dan Fedele, Dan did such an amazin job on the drums for Vol.I, three hours is all it took for him to record 11 tracks in one night bombed as shit. DJ Kenmore, just to let yeas know his passion. DJ drives about 2 1/2 hours to and from practice every week. Our schedule runs weekly like this: 5:30am wake up call as DJ is already at my crib, sleep. 8:00am wake up to start rehearsals. 6:00pm we switch to recordin, 3:00am its time to sleep again. 6:00am wake up call to record more. 11:00am DJ drives 2 1/2 hours back home to work and the weekend is over. That's not a busy week for us, that's our regular shift. DJ always is there for all of us in the band no matter what it is. Without this guy the record would not be well on its way. These are only a few awesome people who sacrifice so much for BLACKMASS MAFIA, and we know there's no way to repay them then to make them proud.
At the end of the day our journey in the studio is over for now, but our journey with Vol.I is only about to begin. We hope you all will be at Mojo 13 this Saturday night to share this journey with us.
Hey all its Mikke, due to circumstances out of myself or DJ's control not only will the premiere trailer for Building The Machine be preempted until next week, we have to back out of the show we had scheduled with our great friends Ketosis, A Minor Error, and Travia at Rebel Rock Bar on March 8th. These set backs are due to a very unprofessional and short sighted move by former drummer Dave Rothwell. This is usually where people bullshit and say best wishes and shit...fuk that shit. Fuk that pair of clown shoes, yea fukd not only Blackmass Mafia over but you fukd the other bands on these shows, you fukd the bookers, and as a "friend" you fukd us personally. We dont air our laundry out for the public, its not our style but this is beyond forgivable. We understand personal shit is personal but business is business as you made iron clad commitments and you welched on them. Fuk it, now we'd like to introduce Alex "A-Bomb Deluxe" Kenmore back to Blackmass Mafia. Alex is a great musician and friend/brother and we know we'll be back to full power for our shows at La Grande Formage on March 15th, Mojo 13 for the release of Vol.I WAR MACHINE on April 20th, and May 15th at Frankie and Johnnys. Next Friday come to Rebel Rock bar and party with us and our friends Ketosis, A Minor Error and Travia as they fuk that stage up and put on a killer show. Again we are so sorry from the bottom of our hearts but sometimes you cant control shit and sometimes yea cant rely on people who just dont have the fuel in the tank. I.F.MUTHAFUKIN.D.D.
Hey all Mikke here, on February 9th BLACKMASS MAFIA will be playin Finnigan's Wake with our friends Reckless Behavior, Ketosis, and Release. Instead of pounding the shit outta yea about the ghey ass borin bullshit of how we're gonna rock the shit outta that place were gonna drop our first single "WAR MACHINE" on yea that night. Then we're gonna be in full swing promo mode for our album Vol.I WAR MACHINE 4/20/13. Well here's the deal, we need to play our asses off and that's what we're gonna do. We have in place an achievement in mind that only YOU can help us reach, we are goin to prove we are the ultimate road dogs, that we are the kings of underground metal and that you don't fuk with the champ. So what do we need from you? We need you to help get us shows, tell friends, family, bars, bands whoever that you want these sexy ass fukerz jammin at their spot. It doesn't matter where in the tri-state area or when or with who, it just matters that we're bringin this shit to you abs you provide us with some crack rock! If you are in Maryland Virginia Mexico fuk it we'll be there.
Peace the fuk out, Mikke
