Here is the review of our show in Edinburgh on 7th July. Thanks to Martin Lennon and all at LFC for being so kind.
"Whatever Punch and Judy might have to say about it, that really was the way to do it. Last Tuesday, Hannah O'Reilly and Roy Henderson AKA Mount Juliet not only brought the house with them they brought it down too! With a completely sublime support set by the magnificent Caro Bridges, who you may be sure will be back at the club one way or another, it's not a surprise that people were walking out at the end saying it was one of the best gigs they'd seen in a very long time. While the crowd came to see Mount Juliet, quite a few would happily have stayed for a whole evening of the support act alone. Mount Juliet - the combination of the two exceptional talents of Hannah O'Reilly and Roy Henderson - really tore it up. It's not possible to isolate one or two top moments to focus on, because the whole show was a top 'moment'. For me, one of the great things about this duo was highlighted when they each did a three song solo spot - it showed that neither of them needs to work together, but that they want and chose to work together. Either way, the audience won. It's worth noting, too, that we got very close to running out of seats in our normal table format. Yet another example of why it's such a good idea to reserve tickets!
Gigs booked, plans for new recording and a shiny new website too. Get in touch and let me know what you think of it! www.royhendersonmusic.com Thanks x
