We would like to thank Dave and everyone for the great time at the Nintendo Christmas Party; New Georgia Hotel, Dec 02. You guys were awesome. Those that came up to sing and dance were alot of fun! Thanks for letting us entertain you!
Three gigs in one week-end - starting with a private birthday on fabulous Eagle Island, the sun setting in the west as we Djangoed away. Next day we had the Poco Music Festival followed by the Kitsilano Yacht Club, another great sunset at the beach. Check out the photo with Libor playing barefoot... Summertime and the music is everywhere.
We had a blast on Saturday June 25th when we played to the crowd attending the Vancouver International Jazz Festival in Gastown. We set up in front of the Lamplighter Pub and quickly had a big crowd cheering the music. A swing dancer named Mako Ruan gave an impromptu performance which really got the cameras clicking!
It was the annnual meeting for the Real Estate Institute of BC, and we were the house band before and after dinner. The fun part was when Improv Comic Roman Danylo came on stage and got these real estate honchos going! Terminal City Club is a classy place to play and our swing music kept everyone in a good mood! We added Seann (my son) on drums and he kept the swing beat. Will post pictures later when I get them. jacques
Libor, Peter Michael & Jacques played for April in Paris, a fund-raiser for VanEast Cultural Centre (the "Cultch") on Monday April 4th, along with the great Joelle Rabu who does a great Edith Piaf! On our second set we were joined by Hadani Ditmars and Joelle Rabu's son Nico who sat in on alto sax with Libor on a smokin hot version of Sweet Georgia Brown. Hadani livened up the set with "J'Attendra".
