My Role Model (Poem)

People say I look like you; I smile when I hear it, I feel very close to you; maybe deep in the spirit, The features I have carried, the traits I inherit, The bond that we have mum, nothing is near it, If I be a good poet then you get the merit, If I pitch the poem, then you get to sell it, You’re my role model clearly, I cherish you so dearly, I follow what you say, your footprints always near me, Though at times I take my own route, I’m still a branch and you’re the root, As much as they move out trying to reach the sky, I drink water from you, because you’re still amai, (Shona: Mum) I never quit, you told me, "try.” You wiped my tears; I barely cry, Then I grew to be this creative guy, I got it from my parents, can never deny, My art is real ‘cause that’s where I rely, She showed me the source of water that’s never dry, Inspiration for no price, My role model's role model is Jesus Christ.

You Were Right (Poem)

Many times you fore-saw the weather, told me to get a sweater, Many a time I opposed you on the things that matter, To see the realities and regret it later; your words are greater, You were not capped by colleges, but you’re my best educator, Because you taught me life lectures; life is no big circus, My appreciation to you scripted in a thousand letters, Yes! a thousand letters or more, I’m not waiting till tomorrow, To stretch my appreciation to you, I do it in the present, Every time I ‘m in your presence feels like the biggest present, You were right in our past conflict; I admit in the present, All I ever wanted to do was to make it in these arts, But the market poetry has, makes it hard to inspire hearts, My poetry is targeted like I’m throwing darts, I don’t enter into contracts with my eyes shut, As a child I got duped then you taught me to be smart, Now every good graphic design will have to feel my touch, The time I spend with you is way beyond the watch, Because you tick in my mind daily, I call when I have credit, But it’s you I give credit, “Thank you Mum , I made it.” Just to admit on those conflicts, “You were right.” I said it.

Carry Me (Poem To My Mother)

You carried me before I was born; continued when I was, Through childhood as I fell, you nursed all my scars, Story telling at night fall as we viewed beautiful stars, I promised you mansions, diamonds and cars, That’s why I still strive to make it very far, Dreams are coming true, look where we are, Not far from living those dreams Mother, The Lord blessed you, you’re now a grandmother, To my nephew Jayden and soon to my children, Isn’t it good to see the house you were building? Our characters f success, we stand out on Earth, Motherhood is a blessing; you were there from birth, I will give due respect till my very last breath, If deeds were diamonds, who would beat your net-worth? If love is like Facebook I’m in your network, I take your advice daily, so you still carry me, Your words ferry me till the undertakers bury me, Your words echo; no matter who marries me, You have a powerful mind and I did inherit it, If it wasn’t for your push then I would have buried it, Me writing you this is part of where your merit is, I promised you so much, so Mum here it is!

Thanks for The Chat (Love Poem)

Read this love poem about social media chat.

Feeling lethargic, tapping the desk I was bored, Your message popped up and had my energy restored, You sent me great jokes; your pics for download, We talked about work; we talked about God, We talked about plans we‟ve laid on the road, It synchronized with my mind; encrypted in code, Connection that brought; an equilibrium of thought, Moved my heart and that‟s why they call it e-motion, Conversation got better; something kept it in motion, Could this be got written; I am treading with caution, If my heart‟s on this path, then I may have no option, But to kneel down and blow this out of proportion, A proposition maybe in musical composition, Fighting fire with fire, you started the ignition, I‟m only taking time „cause I‟m in a transition, Plus I keep a value system; you know I'm a Christian, So if you be the one, we can handle the mission, If I be your one, then we could make some decisions, I like your ambition, charisma and vision, I like the chats we have and that is the reason, I thank you for the chats, Let‟s continue transmission.

Could This Be (Poem)

This is a love poem by Mcpotar. Read this beautiful poem and enjoy the poetic lyricism.

I have searched in this raging sea; full of beauties I see, Till I realized it has to be more than what tickles the eye, I request for the one and await a reply, As I wait that‟s when you come into my life; As a friend only at first; I am trying to keep a slow pace, Though we connect and you have a beautiful face, I need to be sure for my heart to be safe, Broken to pieces too many times it was shattered, Now something real to me is the only thing that matters, Let‟s forget my past mistakes and mine, Let‟s relate until we shine, Could this be what I‟ve awaited for years, What I mistook at times and ended in tears, Could this be…? If not may it die down like the rain, My heart is not prepared to take in all that pain, But you, you‟re a beauty and a blessing, A true bond between us is the only part I‟m stressing, Not to say I am perfect, I have errors I‟m confessing, But I learnt to be cautious when I took life‟s lesson, Could this be?
