The good news is I won the popular vote by about 18,000 votes, but the bad news is the judges still didn't select me (perhaps the oldest contestant) as a finalist in the big Guitar Center songwriting competition. But the good news is I'm not discouraged. In fact... I wrote a new song..... "Don't Write Me Off" ! http://youtu.be/9qvZx1fwcEk
Did you know that in addition to writing songs and making music, I also write books (17 titles currently in print, translated in 13 languages). If you are at interested mystical and magical subjects you might want to check out my works on Amazon. They make great gifts easy to order and ship. Give it some thought this gift-giving season. http://www.amazon.com/Lon-Milo-DuQuette/e/B000APMYTA/ref=dp_byline_cont_book_1
Hello Friends and Fans I'm not the greatest singer. I'm not the greatest guitar player. Some of my videos are homemade and shot with my Zoom recorder in my office in the middle of the night. I don't have a big flashy band behind me. BUT I WRITE GOOD SONGS and I've entered a huge SONGWRITING competition where they will actually judge the quality of the SONGS. But before my songs can be evaluated by the experts I have to win sort of a regular popularity-type contest... and for that part YOU CAN HELP ME. Please go to the link below and play through (and hopefully enjoy) the 5 short music videos I've entered. By doing so you will be casting 5 votes for me. You can do this more than once a day, but please only play as many times a day as you can actually listen. Please help me get to the evaluation phase of this contest by playing my videos right up until Nov. 9th when the contest ends. Out of nearly 12,000 songwriters who have entered I AM TODAY I AM IN FIRST PLACE! Help keep me stay there. Thank you very much... with your help you might see me on Jimmy Kimmel Live! http://songwriter.amplifiertv.com/channel/Lon+Milo+DuQuette
Please have a listen to my radio interview on Northern Spirit Radio's Song of My Soul .... they play lot's of my songs from Gentle Heretic .... please leave a comment .... if you enjoy! ;-) http://www.northernspiritradio.org/index.asp?command=showinfo&showid=666992191729
Lon's new (and arguably most controversial) song, "I'm Scared" takes on the deeper issues of gun violence. At CD Baby now, for $.99 download. http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/lonmiloduquette5
Along with my first CD (I'm Baba Lon) my second CD (Baba Lon II) is now also on PANDORA. Please be happy for me.... and do me a favor and create a "Lon Milo DuQuette" Station on Pandora.... and whenever a Lon-song comes in rotation ..... LIKE IT! http://www.pandora.com/lon-milo-duquette
Wow! 2013 has been a good year for my music. Thank you everyone for your support and goodwill. My song, BERNICE, won first prize in the OpenMic.US Singer-Songwriter Competition, and my controversial song, IF WE BELIEVED, won the Pagan 'Hornie' award for Best Single of 2013. But these songs are on my newest CD Gentle Heretic which was released on Halloween. Lots of world travel ahead in 2014. I hope to see as many of you as I possibly can (while I'm still young and beautiful! ;-) Thanks you all for a wonderful and memorable year! "Bernice", the new single, was released on Ninety Three Records June 21, and is available at CDBaby and Amazon.
"Lon DuQuette's return to his past life as a 1920's campus romantic paints a perfect picture of roaring twenties giddiness in the flapper era. Raccoon coats, bobbed hair, scandalous hemlines - all make an appearance in this spot on ode to the era of The Charleston, speakeasies and F. Scott Fitzgerald. Lon's ukulele and Michael Starr's excellent violin add authenticity to a catchy melody that captures the heady abandon of the Jazz Age with an innocent and (slightly) naughty glee. Enjoy! I've just entered my new song, Bernice, in a songwriter's competition. I'm up against some pretty talented young whippersnappers ... but they won't have a chance if you help me out by voting for me at: http://openmics.competitionalley.com/ Please click on and listen to "Bernice" and help show that old folks can be cool too!
